I wouldn't personally consider any interior with piping, especially in a contrasting color! So 1980s... Get with the times BMW!

And this is why I love this program.. No one has any clue what is going on.. My dealer is like a deer in headlights. BMW NA Customer service doesn't even know what Individual means half the time, and if they do, they refer back to the dealer who has no clue.

Anyway, I was told to put my Individual order in July 1 for July production.. I'm not sure if that happened, but I will find out shortly. I guess it depends on which car you order and with what options. I thought the contrast stitching was available late summer ?

What most people are not understanding is that some individual options must be confirmed that they can be done and costed out before determining a build and delivery date. It is not as easy as asking for a different color leather for the interior. There is much more to it than that which is why it is not so easy to provide a build or delivery date. It is a process that you have to work through to confirm the Individual options, build and delivery dates.

My recommendation is to work with your local dealer to put you in touch with your regional M Rep. This M Rep should be able to work directly with BMW Individual North America to help answer any of your questions.

Please see the attachment below to help give you an idea of timings for individual exterior finish and upholstery for the M3 and M4.

Ya.. I am.. apparently. And they are having a hard time confirming the most basic of things, such as paint (which is in their palette) and the contrast stitching, which as your post states above, is available 7/2014.. This was confirmed by the BMW M rep.. yet here we are and no one still has a clue what is going on.

You may want to consider some of these BMW Reds before you finalize your choice!

Really, piping is outdated??? So I guess Jaguar, Range Rovers, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini are not with the times lol?
Funny because my XJ is a 6 figure car that's far more luxurious than any series of BMW with contrasting color and piping.

I didn't know BMW Individual was so much more than just picking special interior and paint as the BMW region sites don't really go into detail in how extensive the Individual program could really be. I didn't even know you could stick a cooler in the rear of that 7-Series.

Would love one of these lookbooks...

Contrast stitching won't be available in the summer unfortunately. You will be able to get stitching that matches the exterior of your M3 or M4. Think YMB exterior with YMB contrast stitching. This should be available in early 2015.

So I may have missed it, but can someone purchase this book? I think it would be neat for the coffee table.

I received them directly from BMW Individual, however they asked me kindly not to post them. If you have a color in mind I can check to see if it is included. Please keep in mind that most any color can be had for an additional cost. If it is a new color that they have not produced previously then there may be additional developmental costs. Most of the colors that that have already produced will incur the $5k USD option cost if ordered from the U.S. I hope this helps.
