M4 CS Sneak Peak TFL Cars

Interesting info for the USA:
  • M4 CS will be shod with PSS in the US
  • Front tires are 255/35R19 (as seen at 2:12)
  • Should be priced "just under $100k"
  • Will be 2019MY

That’s the first I’d heard that the M4 CS will be production-limited like the M3 CS will. Prior to this is sounded like they’d be producing them steadily for at least a year. It made me wonder if he wasn’t mistaking the M3/M4 production plans, but he reiterated it later and specifically mentioned 1200 for both. That still seems a bit suspect, but I suppose he’d know.

He also said the base US price would be under $100k which is also a bit surprising given the M3 CS base price is already nearly there and the fact that the M4 CS adds the OLED tail lights. I figured it would be about $101k or so based on the price differences in other regions.

Surprised to hear about the 1200 M3 CS. I thought there would less built than the M4's.

Same here. I think he is erring on the M4CS worldwide production volumes. I also think he understated the M4Cs US MSRP. Here in Canada, the M4CS is $3000CAD more than the M3CS.

This gentleman works for BMW USA, so I would be surprised he does not have all the right info.

I trust the guy in the video below a bit more (gotta figure a guy with a german accent from BMW AG is a bit more in the know, further considering he is the M3/4 product manager). He says the M4CS is capped at 2400 units. In this video, he also reveals that the M3CS essentially weighs the same as a base M3.

See post above. M3CS is 1200 units while M4CS is 2400 units according to the BMW AG M3/M4 product manager.

You mean you guys don’t have the M4CS yet? I’m surprised given they are in showrooms everywhere here!

Talk to me about it. I’ve had my deposit down since February last year. I was expecting to do an ED in the summer of 2017. We won’t be seeing the M4CS in showrooms until September or October this year since SOP is July.

Damn so production has been extended huh. Wish my sales guy would have told me this. I put down a deposit last year and was told it is most likely sold out. I took my deposit out in Feb. Can I still put down on this ??

Seems like most SA, yours is clueless. Production for North American CS has not even started yet...

Further, they are far from "sold out". My take is that they will struggle to sell them all at this MSRP in the US.

Interesting that they have fitted the fronts with 255 tyres rather than the 265 of the Cup 2 or even the competition pack. Anyone know if the rears in MPSS are 275 or 285 ?

IMO, they simply took the star spec tires that were available to them:
  • PSS are 255/35R19 from the base M3/4 in front and 285/30R20 from the CP in the rear.
  • PSC2 are the 265/35R19 front and 285/30R20 rear from the GTS.

Note that they could not take the front 265 PSS tires from the CP be are for a 20” wheel.
