There is no market to support two different engines and some markets may not receive progress as before due to legislation.
I think BMW should do as PORSCHE.
A GT3 has an atmospheric engine
A Turbo has an turbo engine.
And, I don't think it's due to legislation
So, it's a pity BMW doesn't develop an engine without turbo as they did with the ///M3 CSL

No, I have no interest in BMW EVER doing anything like Porsche, sorry.

And yeah, the M3 CSL was based off a car that already had a NA engine. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

The only reason I would want the adaptive suspension is to run in sport plus mode. At least on my M6 anyway, the only suitable setting is sport plus, the others are too soft. My question is the standard suspension similar to the stiffest setting in adaptive M suspension? Is it supposed to better the handling? Does the adaptive suspension weigh more? I could care less about driving in comfort mode....

Even though i have not driven the new M3 yet, i doubt the adaptive suspension is worth it. The standard one is already a stiff suspension so you may only pay for extra comfort, if that's what you value, but i doubt they are better performance wise. But ok, pure guess on my side.
The DKG is so expensive since its been further developed and should be the best DKG built to date. It improves performance and there is where BMW like to have bigger margins. In my view it will be worth it.
You also ordered in Luxembourg? When is your expected delivery?

I ordered it in Arlon. In Belgium, they had the M3 configurator available several weeks before Luxembourg. The initial delivery date was November due to an issue with carbon fiber roof production. The issue has been fixed now and the delivery date is now end of August.

Good point. However, as the new M3 was introduced as a daily as well as a circuit type car, I would guess that the comfort is acceptable for a daily use but I am not sure as I have not yet got the opportunity to drive it. I will wait for the first test drive reports to find out and eventually will add the adaptive suspension,if needed.

Even if you are going over a rough road where the pavement is all F'd up you don't switch the suspension to comfort? I thought it was a must have option

Never ever. I hate comfort mode. I live in SoCal so I never go over really F'ed up pavement. I dont enjoy comfort mode at all, if I wanted to not feel the road and ride on a cloud Id buy a Lexus or Mercedes

ahhhh... interesting.... but I guess the main benefit is that I would be able to tighten the suspension with this option. I'm guessing the car comes in just normal mode if you skip this option. If I were to drop this option I'd probably pick up HK sound

Any ribbing in a structure generally makes it stiffer. This doesn't cut the quick sanity check for me.

This question was just asked at the NYIAS and the passive system is set-up to be between sport and sport+ mode so Im dropping the adaptive M suspension option...
