Essen 2014: Manhart M4, M235i Widebody and i8

Manhart has a trio of BMWs at this year's Essen Motor Show, including the MH4 550 (M4), MH2 400 WB (M235i Wide Body) and the i8.

Via Manhart:

Also at this year’s Essen Motor Show Tuning Exhibition, Manhart Performance will be presenting some highlights. In their booth in Hall 10 they will be exhibiting three highly modified vehicles, all of them being world premieres.

Among them the MH2 400 WB, an advancement of the recently revealed MH2 400 Clubsport, equipped with 420HP and a newly developed wide body kit. Even more exciting is the Manhart MH4 550, based on the new BMW M4 F82. The name already indicates that the MH4 is fitted with the biggest Performance Kit Manhart currently has to offer for the new S55 engine: 550HP and more than 820Nm of torque are the output numbers of the MH4. Probably the most attention during the show will be paid to the Manhart i8 electric sports car, which features various exterior modifications such as the all new Manhart two-piece forged wheels in 21”, sport-lowering and some custom wrapping.

Manhart M4, M235i and i8

I like the M4. 820NM is like 605 ft-lb. That's a lot of torque.

Not sure about that, but their detailer's are still in the first grade, and they clearly are really bad listeners.

Damn right they do! Aside from the yellow accents on all these, nice showing. The power outputs are impressive, but as we all know from past experience, Manhart has been known to inflate numbers. Regardless, impressive.

M235i looks mean, too much yellow and little weird details, but the overall shape is nicely done. The box-shelf rear fenders remind me of the E30 M3 a bit.

That yellow high-light on the i8's rearend REALLY amplifies the "pooping out an 911" effect.

I remember (vaguely) seeing the E46 for the first time and just thinking it was a bit smaller than I would have expected.
I suppose for this reason, the size of the F80/82 just seems to be right in that sweet spot for me.
Though, I can see why/how the M2 is going to be a huge hit with many, simply due to size alone (and all benefits that come with that attribute).
