@ciaranob , as I mentioned somewhere else, if you are concerned get ISTA/D and run the various procedures I documented above. Since then my battery has been running normal.

I sometimes wonder if things like an iPod plugged into the USB, or a cigarette-lighter USB charging plug, act as constant drains whenever the car is off. Maybe it's time to start putting those plastic cigarette plug covers back in...

no their powerless when ignition/accessories off. That's not it, it's the software allowing a certain port to continue, it sticks like a glitch.

edit: known of what I said is factual it just sounds good.

FYI, I had no blackvue or anything like that. But to answer your q, given you can open you door, unlock the hood, put a LiFePO4 trickle charger capable of detecting very low voltage on the proper posts in the engine bay, and the battery should wake up and start charging.

Or you get those booster packs, just like the tech from BMW road side assistance keep with them and used on my car to wake the battery.

Aside from that, have no clue how you can get in the trunk, maybe you have to take apart the interior. GL.

thanks.. i have the bmw charger (12v) but guess i need a high voltage charger to bring it out of the "under voltage protection" hibernation the car and battery puts itself into.. hopefully i can get a hv lit-ion charger to wake it up and charge the thing. i cant believe there isnt a hidden keyhole for the trunk. seats are closed, no ski access and no trunk key.

All you need is a LifePO4 trickle charge that detects very low voltage on a dead or very empty battery. You dont need a HV charger ... There are three models now on the market, one from BMW, one from CTEK, and Optimate.

But I think ordinary booster pack can wake up the battery too, but probably a bit rough.

As to your ordeal, imagine if you couldnt open you door because you removed the keyhole I think there was a thread somewhere here with a situation like that!
