Why did you get a "permit"? You can drive in germany with a u.s. license for 6 months from the time you hit the ground in germany. Congrats on new car!

Please explain more. So, flat 7% off?
Trip included?

Can you elaborate more on the cars stopping coming out of dealer allocations? Meaning how to get the 14% off the MSRP? Thanks

I knew about the regular 7% off MSRP but nad no idea more can be had...

Have a great trip.
I dont know if you can but you will be nearby. I recommend the Eagles Nest http://www.kehlsteinhaus.de/en/ and the Verzasca dam near Locarno - great roads nearby and stunning dam. BTW the M looks stunning. I think I actually like the 19´s over the bigger rimns. congrats

Be super careful in Italy. Just know that if I did ED, I'd never ever take my car there. And be careful around Como too, the roads are so insanely narrow, you'll be shocked.

When going to the city Singen, tak a stop at autosalon-singen.
They have almost everything you can imagine on wheels:

One of the worst country in europe to drive. specially in summer. I had this talk in another post you want the best roads in europe? spain and portugal. yesterday I was in basque country and just added another epic mountain road to my list in the area. great tarmac, no traffic anazing scenery

7/11 - Neuschwanstein Castle

Today I left Munich and drove to Neuschwanstein Castle. For those who are going here for the tour, here are some tips:

(1) Reserve your tickets on their website. http://www.neuschwanstein.de/englisc...ist/admiss.htm Seriously, don't even bothering showing up if you didn't pre-purchase. The ticket line is ridiculously long if you don't. With the reserved tickets, you can take the special reservation line which had no one in it.

(2) Arrive at least 30 minutes before you need to pick up your tickets. The bus that takes you up to the castle doesn't run very often so if you miss it, you'll have to hike up hill (20-30 min walk).

(3) Parking is at the base of the castle. You'll see a big sign that says Castle with parking.

Here are a couple pictures I took of the car, the rest were all scenery photos:
