You need to put this in perspective. Is it worth 165k€ in The Netherlands, yes. But taxes and BPM are implicated so it's price it not applicable to the entire €/Euro value.

For example, the same car is sold in Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany around 130k in Euro.

How much is a standard M4 with comparable options in the Netherlands?

Here's how I look at it - it's all relative.

My M4 cost me $82K new. I spent about $15K in mods (sus/tires/wheels and m perf parts in and out). So my outlay for a car that I'm happy with came to settle into the low to mid $90s USD not including the 10% CA state sales tax.

A car I know I'd be happy with is a 991.1 GTS. It's outright superior to the M4 along all fronts. Back when I looked for a private sale GTS with all the trimmings I demand, they hovered around $120K USD. The nut I'd have to fork over would've been another $30K.

I stuck to my budget and "settled" for the M4. Is the CS worth that extra $15K to me? Nice BMW, but no. I'd just bust down the budget and get the 911. CS, end of day, remains saddled with a commuter car chassis.

The added layer is then do I really want a GTS when I can climb into a 991 GT3? Timing wasn't right as I did not want the 991.1 GT3 with its inferior engine to the .2 unit. 991.2 GT3 is the sweet spot for me, but that's yet another chapter added to my narrative that I won't bore you guys with - good luck!

Beyond absurd. $200k??? You could put yourself into a whole different category of car at that price point, not just a sup'd up M3! Someone out there will buy it so I guess it's worth it to BMW, but for us normal folks, it's ridiculous.

The issue is the import duty. It’s nothing to do with BMW. Same issue in Ireland. The base price before taxes is the same if not cheaper than the UK. Add the VAT and Import duty and that’s what you get. My F80 was 118k list to give you some perspective. A new 911 GTS is over 220k.

It’s crazy but what can you do? Move country? So an isolated poll like this doesn’t tell you the full story. You can’t simply go and buy a new M3 / M4 for the equivalent of $80k or £60k either way.

The prices for a new M4 CS dropped to 149K euro in the Netherlands. Not worth it!.

Buy a new LCI F82 comp. pack. with CS M763 rims, GTS hood and a CS tune from Alex and you are done (and saving 20K).

Besides taxes, we pay the highest price for gas (after Norway) in the world: 1.82 euro/l 98 RON
