Servicing Your F8x at M Certified Dealer?

So I have a BMW dealership real close to me, thats not M ceritifed- do you think I'd have any worry getting my F80 serviced there?

Or should I drive 2 hours to a M ceritifed dealer to get the work performed?

Personally, it seems like the M ceritification for dealers is mostly marketing, but wanted to what the consensus on this forum is.

The dealer thats real close to me barely keeps 1/2 M cars in stock, so I worry that they may not know how to properly service the M cars.

Which service is it. I'm sure they can handle an oil change

It's more about sales knowledge and not car technical knowledge from a repair/maintenance standpoint.

To become an M Certified Center, the dealership is required to send two personnel annually to one day of extensive sales training at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC. This training is exclusive to M Certified candidates and will include special tips for working with “top-tier” M brand clients will learn about a complete suite of BMW M products as well as those of BMW’s key competitors. Among other things, this training will teach dealerships to properly sell the engineering advantages built into every M vehicle.
When you search for dealerships at bmwusa.com its a filter you can apply.

Yeah it's mostly the oil change I think. This would be the first service after the break in service.
