....and DCT brings you the benefit of both - less work but you control which gear you're in. Hurrah!!

Well, the main thing is, you're doing it for the right reasons....

Of course I'm perfect and my reasons are like the laws of physics, undeniable.

Haven't ordered. But when I do, it will be the DCT.

What's going to be tough for me, is that while I see some of you above say you tried one, didn't like it, and went to the other tranny by switching cars after a few years, I tend to keep my cars 6 to 8 years on average, so I know that whatever choice I make, I better be able to live with it for a while!

I'd cry if I got a DCT for example, and then after 6 months of ownership, wish I had gotten the MT. I'm toying with getting DCT after like 20 years of driving stick (and loving it), as I thought it would be cool to shift with paddles, and occasionally when I'm lazy, have the option of letting the car do it for me. Luckily, my daily commute is like 10 miles, with very little stop and go traffic, so I don't *need* a DCT, unlike someone living in LA.

Aaarrggghhh!

You need to be ready for something different since it's nothing like an MT. If you're ok with that it's a cool transmission. The full throttle shifts at redline is an experience the MT can't provide for example. It is no doubt faster in any racing and it has the relaxing auto mode. It's not as involved for sure and you do handover much control to a computer. As you say, this is not an easy choice by any means. For me both have advantages and I have no problem switching between them. That said I'm definitely ready for an MT again.
