Several BMWs heading out to Island Dragwway again tomorrow night (Fri, 8/26).

Gates open at 7pm, racing starts at 7:30pm.

Can you give any further info such as; cost/how many runs you'll typically get in/helmets required, etc.

I may be interested if timing allows. Tried to wash the car yesterday but as soon as I rinsed her the skies opened up, so another wash is in order. Was planning tonight post-work, but can try to squeeze that in my morning tomorrow.

Typically a good amount of runs. 4-6-8. Made 12 once.

Helmets are definitely required, but you can rent one there. Must have drivers license with you. Also, must wear pants, no shorts.

Sounds good. Do you meet with people outside dragway, or just try to link up once there? I'm going to try my best to get up there tonight.

No, we just meet inside since people arrive at different times. Best to just get in there and meet once inside.

You have to go through "tech inspection" before running, where you fill out a form and they check out your car quickly. So most of us do that when we arrive and then meet in the staging lanes.

I had fun tonight. I managed to do 3 runs before I got called for the hunger games.

It was good to meet you RowanBuds. Your car looked nice.

My third run was the best. I managed a time of 12.838 secs and max speed 116.2 MPH.

They were taking some photos as we were lining up on starting point on the dragway. Does anyone know how to get them? I saw flash go off when the lights were turning green.

I just saw the front page. The Hex tuned M4 did it in 11.3 @ 123MPH. You were even faster

Thanks, man. I still have to work out my traction problems. In addition to the 11.07 run at 130 mph, did one at 11.19 @ 131mph, then the rest were 11.3, 11.4, and some high elevens and higher where I was spinning still. Even with Mickey thompson S/S street tires. Car was also shifting itself as I was hitting paddles, causing doubleshifts several times. Still happy that I put down a better time than the gtr and a couple of other fast cars.😁. Always learning and always fun.
