Thanks for clarifying. If smb is a standard color not semi individual that's interesting.

Is semi individual still the old ~$2k cost?

In Europe, SMB has been made a standard metallic colour on all M3s and M4s (replacing Silverstone). So I think it is only a question of time before we also see this in North America.

That is country dependent. In the US, LRG and FDB are a $5000 option on the CS models. We are getting them for free in Canada, but on a limited first come first served basis.

You bought a M4CS? I was starting to wonder if anyone has bought one because they are in the 3 BMW dealers I go past for the last month. Also, I thought LRG is a cost option at $4400?

To the OP, my dealer has both the LRG and SMB M4CS sitting in the showroom. The SMB pops, while the LRG looks dull. In fact, I would take the BSM one I've seen at another dealership. If you are ever in Melbourne, go see Mo at BMW Melbourne. He has them all.
I've ordered an M3CS in SMB, the 4 was just too stripped out for DD. I do know there are a fair few M4CS's sitting around unsold at the moment

Do I love the color? Yes very much so but I wouldn't say it's unique per se

IMO both colors have been played out for a good 3-4 years now. Blue color reminds me a lot of Deep Impact Blue that Ford used since 2013 I believe
Saying Nardo/Limerock is played out is funny because it is unlikely you will ever see more than a couple CS packages in the flesh unless you're attending shows, etc. That alone makes any color a safe choice, let alone one that cannot be had via the standard trim.

That being said I'd likely go with San Marino simply because it's one of the richest, deepest, most beautiful blues BMW has ever made. But either way you can't go wrong!
Been all over the Tri-State area along with Ma. Ri. Never spotted a Nardo or Lime Rock, overplayed??

All my BMWs are grey, so you know what gets my vote... But LG is a unique color, so that is an added bonus.

I hope SMB is only available for M4 in the US. I ordered it on my M3 (July 2028 ED) and would feel ripped off if someone else can order it now a standard color; even if production ends soon.

There has to be some thought and logic from BMW; removing colors such as SS is one thing but charging 5k to a client and the next day offering it a standard is not a good practice imho.

Yeah it has, PM me of your after real pricing. The M3CS comes basically fully kitted with HK and all. Still no comfort access though which is annoying.

Lime Rock Grey is the way to go. Although SMB is awesome.....
You can't really go wrong either way.

10 years seems like a rather long time to wait ED delivery on your new M3. Hope that BMW is still making M3's in 2028.

Lol...BMW will store it for me and it will be an instant classic and appreciate 30pct. I don't know why people don't do this more often.

SMB in UK is not a standard colour, it's an individual option at £950 on all M3/4

Alpine, black and SMB on CS are £0 option , Limerock and frozen dark blue are £2600 option on CS

I think it is only a question of time before SMB becomes a "standard" matallic colour on the M3/4 everywhere in the world. There are some European sites that are already showing it (replacing SSII in the "standard" metallic color palette).

From the BMW.DE (Germany) site:

Think you will be right. As long as they keep it an M specific colour , one of the benefits of SS2, you see it on a motor and know it's covering something special

I was at a local dealer last week and they apparently had a San Marino Blue M3 on the floor for about a week. One of the service techs bought it. I found it parked on the street in front of the dealership. My wife has a San Marino Blue M3 CP on order for July 18 Euro Delivery,

My dealer offered a June build, but no LRG available in the system. Any explanation for that?

They are not making it in LRG anymore. Was a limited number. There is a post about it here somewhere

You have to order it through Individual. Initially they said the same thing to me. The Frozen blue and the Lime Rock are through Individual
