Huge props he can think of Porsche or Aston like most would think of a Camry sport.

Nice work
That is freaking awesome. I'd probably daily a manual Porsche 911 S if that was the case.

Not a damn thing. Id buy a 1million dollar home and a 2 million dollar home. Live in one of them and rent the other. Dont waste your money on bullshit. Invest it now and your kids can be rich too. With the income from your rental property you can eventually afford most supercars monthly payment

I would keep my M3 as a daily, buy a new Raptor as a second daily, and then whatever supercar tickles your fancy at the time.

Pay cash for a house, then invest the rest and enjoy it. It is all about balance, dont blow it all and dont hoard it all either.

If you can pick 1 car to buy. What would it be? And why? In this situation. You already have an M4 as a daily.
So many, many options for that kind of dough. However I would likely get a liveable every day car, small nimble, great visibility, lightweight and real mechanical feel. A beautiful and special car made for driving pleasure. This adds up to an older car so it will take good money to have it always running perfectly and be able to take consistent hard driving. Something like this:

911S 2.2

And then maybe dump the M4 for an 812 Superfast...

To me, a perfect daily is an appliance. You should be able to park it anywhere and not give a crap what happens to it.
I consider my M4 an appliance, that serves for both DD and track duty. I park it anywhere I don't give a crap (within reason) what happens to it.

Sorry, but depending on where you live, that vintage 911 is a terrible daily driver: unsafe in a crash, poor A/C and heating, and suspect reliability. That is a Sunday car for relieving past mechanical glory, at best. IMO.

Don’t feel sorry. I grew up in Sweden where my mom’s daily was a VW 1303S for 20 years or so. Not because my folks couldn’t afford something newer but because she loved it. And as for suspect reliability on the 911, I got a couple of millions to spend on that remember

+1

Would be an amazing stable with these 2 cars. Preferably the newly redesigned G and a 991.2 GT3 with 6spd Manual.

On a side note I love the variation on this thread! Everything from Bugatti to Toyota Camry.

Gotta admit it's almost impossible to give a serious answer without knowing the OPs current financial circumstances (Pre-inheritance) and future earning potential.

My 2 cents: Life is too short to be stuck in the rat race. This is OPs chance to GET OUT!!! Sure a $1M Hypercar would be fun, but insurance, maintenance etc all adds ups. Buy the above combo, pay off a modest mortgage & quit your full time day job. $200K a year in passive income is a ton of money to hit the gym, travel, spend time with family and work part time 1-2 days a week doing a hobby you love. Find your passion and you never know, might become a self made millionaire just following your dreams.

Agree on all points sans the daily driver part. No way in hell am I driving a car of that vintage day in, day out. It downright uncomfortable on long trips for various reasons, and a little dangerous in a crash. Weekend car once in a while, hell yes.

I realize “daily” mean different things for people. My daily driving is my work commute that usually do not involve much if any hwy + a family man’s grocery runs, going to the gym etc. For me extended Hwy , long road trips etc. is my once in a while weekend drives. I would love doing my type of daily driving in a fully restored and upgraded car of this type. I would not strive for all original parts etc. I’d get current suspension upgrades, current seat and light technology etc., a complete engine rebuild to improve on the original. I would keep the exterior looking original though and stay away from electronics in the drive line and suspension. Put those millions to work

Old air cooled Porsche’s are super easy to work on and parts can be pretty cheap. Never heard much complaints about reliability on the old stuff. I have mainly owned 80s and up. Can easily drive the 80s models daily as far as reliability, but the AC sucks, you’ll smell like oil, the clutch is heavy and steering is heavy at slow speeds or in parking lots. All in all, forget the old stuff. I love modern day 911s.

My uncle has a 1973 that he bought new and drove until a few years ago when his health stopped his driving carreer. I’ve driven it once many years ago and it is to today’s date the best experience I ever had behind the wheel. Likely a fair dose of nostalgia and poor references at the time here but I can still remember the immense feel of involvement and mechanical feel. Plus it felt really quick...and I wanted one ever since but since I can’t justify the expense of having an immaculate one I don’t want the hassle or risk messing up the memory

Sounds like a Resto-mod. I Would love to have an older 911 as a weekend cruiser also.

Check out this Clarion 2002 Resto-mod from a few years back. This thing is pretty bad ass.
