B9 Audi RS5 acceleration video

Hi,
Friend of mine did vbox testing on new audi RS5.
0-100 is without Launch Control.

pretty fast, but 100+km/h i think it's slower than C63S or M3/M4 (standard or CP)

Why would you not launch an AWD drive car that has launch control? Sounds good and seems to rev nicely, but the main benefit to an AWD car is their launch.

Edit
0-200km h
0-250km h
Both seem to be around the same or faster for RS5 depending on different sources/tests online. This car would really have a serious jump with a proper launch. Who cares about the straight line, more interested in the track numbers. Both of these cars are/will be easily tunable.

The most uninspiring engine note of any sports car on sale today

I even think the S5 has more character

0-200kph : 13.7s from the video, which is pretty good for running without launch and at a public highway.

M4 does 0-200kph around 13 according to numbers published online.
So I have no doubt in my mind RS5 will beat F8x in a straight line

definitely going to hang onto it....i've got a rwd too

back when i bought it i thought there's no way manufacturers can make anything this loud again.....seems it's being proven true (and even by jaguar themselves since next gen cars will use the muted bmw v8 tt)

Go to 7 mins

There is absolutely nothing sporty about that sound, just sounds like any v6 econo car

I drove the s5, and that had a more gruff characterful note

Shmees voice could be used as a torture device. Regardless, I respect that he puts a lot of effort and time into these reviews, but I refuse to listen or watch more than 30 seconds of any of his videos.

Seems pretty quick to me!

The 2.9tt will be flash tuned soon after launch and stage 3+ will most likely offer turbo and fueling upgrades.

Anyone know the official weight?

1730 KG or about 3814 Freedom Units as I have seen some fellow Americans say

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These numbers are per Audi Germany's Website. I just wish they'd think of making a sport back. Would be nice to cross shop for when I get closer to looking at cars.

Thank you my friend!

3814 isn't bad at all. I am eager to see how a tuned comparison does vs tuned m3

I also don't believe the weight is bad either. It helps that they shrunk it from a N/A V8 to a TT V6 which I believe is a good idea to be able to increase handling because they are able to move the engine farther back . Sure the V8 was great sounding but as the world moves to forced induction, no one in this segment can be above this idea I don't believe (I'm looking at you as well Lexus. But word is Lexus is developing their own TT V6/V8. I'm looking forward to that personally).

I wouldn't be surprised if the tuned audi outpaces the tuned m3 off the line (hard to beat AWD in that aspect) , but won't be surprised if even with the weight reduction, people claim the m3 still handles better. Not sure who to pick in the quarter mile.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeh the s55 doesn't make a great noise, but at least in zcp it's a characterful one

That base model panamera engine in rs5 sounds like a v6 kia with a wet paper bag over the exhaust tips

Edit - actually that was unfair to Kia

You know you've chosen the wrong engine off the shelf to power your supposedly premium performance car when even Kia make a better sounding v6

There is no s55 that sounds any better than a weed whacker with fake amplification. The RS5 simply sounds better.....not great by any stretch but still better than the M.
