Full leather dash swap out?

So my order on my ‘18 was goof’d and I didn’t get my full leather. I really want the merino leather dash but I couldn’t find anyone that has done a swap before. Anyone have this done or know someone that has?

Reorder the order man. That's a stupid solution even if someone happens to magically have a leather dash lol.

Yea, I don't know about swapping, but I hope the dealership compensated you for that if it was their fault. I wouldn't have accepted the car if not.

Yeah.... this. If it has already gone into production and they screwed up have them get you another allocation. The chance that you will find someone willing to give up their entire dash or a totaled car with the dash intact is minuscule if not completely impossible.

I doubt anyone with a full leather upper dash will want to trade you. Best option (and only one acceptable to me) is to re-order the car, which sucks because it means you will have to wait a while longer before your vehicle arrives.

In addition to the upper dash, the top of the door cards are also leather for a standard full leather spec, as well as the glove box cover, hockey puck looking thing, lower dash, and the area under the HVAC controls (possibly some other areas too, but I can't recall off the top of my head).

In other words, full leather entails more leather than just the upper dash. Re-order or see if the dealer will make up for their mistake in some other manner. I would just re-order the car so it has the options you want.

I decided to take delivery, the mistake saved me 5k plus the price difference between full and extended leather. The savings was enough for me to accept not having full leather And It has all the other options I wanted. I’m not looking to swap dashes with another owner mostly looking to see if anyone purchased and installed a leather dash after delivery.

The leather dash was more important to me than the other leather bits. But I see your point...

I have to tell you, I frikin love my full leather and I suspect there are plenty of shops that can do it for you (not swap, but add it).

And I'd trade you for a sunroof if you are interested - cause this car is really dark here during the dreary winter of IL

if that one dude can get BMW to rebuild his entire order because the color stitching was off a shade, i'm certain you can get a brand new order for this cockup. hell, might as well ask them to take this one back and upgrade you to a new M5 with comp pack.

Its not just rhe dash, but also the door cards front and rear and the glovebox area. You should find on ebay a used one for 2-3 grand.

I would not reorder a entire car just for the full leather option. Not worth it. Just be happy that you have a brand new M3 with 400+ horsepower.
By the way I'm in the Orland Park/ Chicago area as well.

Night and Day difference in the car look.

Will cost you well over the $5k buying new.

Only 1 Full Leather Black M3/M4 Dash (and 1 F30 with no contrast stitching) in last 18 months. From Europe, and USD/EU rate much better then. Priced about $1600 in today’s conversion. Think it was about $1200 then.

Both Spring 2017. None since.

I purchased M3/M4 one. One from 330e went about the same time.

That did NOT include Door Panels. I have not seen a full set of them in Extended Leather on eBay in last 18 months.

Agree, it completely changes the look and atmosphere of the car. IMO no other option has such a large impact, not even individual paint.

If an unordered option appeared I would imagine the price would be negotiated down. If not what ordered....Refuse the auto and wait 3 more months, easy enough.
