Question How come my F83’s trunk doesn't pop up when unlatched like an F82's does?

I noticed that on my friend's Coupe M4, when he presses the trunk open button on the key fob, the trunk opens completely but on my Convertible F83, it just unlocks and I have to manually open it with my hand. Is that just how it is on the convertible?

I think you have to adjust the spring settings in your trunk. I have an f80, sometimes it just pops all the way up and sometimes it just pops up a tiny bit and I have to manually open it the rest of the way. Minor annoyance.

ah ok, just making sure it's by design and not a flaw in my trunk. Thanks for confirming

That's just how it is; not a flaw. Even the E93 was the same way; it just pops up so you can grab the trunk handle and pull up the luggage lid.

Most likely because space is already limited as it is with all the hard-top components especially when the top is open and the glass/roof is folded into the trunk.
