5 hours from Greer? That must be the boonies. Atlanta is only a couple of hours I'd guess. I've done a similar drive to Columbus, GA. That maybe was 5 hours.

called bmw today -- automated system told me my car (MY16 M3) is in production with a completion date of 2 July.

trying to confirm with CA -- but certainly positive news!

original order had no week assigned, and last i called bmw (2 weeks ago) they knew my prod number was for the m3, and it was status 112, but nothing more. now it is suddenly in production!

For those with OCD...you can see when certifications are made. There are 2016 BMWs with certifications so that is a good sign that this process won't hold anything up.

Nope. Still can't get into mine.

I think you will be able to track it on website once production starts. The only way to get a status update now is to call bmw na and speak with a rep.

Production has started. We would not have been able to get our VINs otherwise. It is a BMW website/system issue.

i assume everything will be working once they update the site to reflect the MY2016 models as well as the 2016 pricing (lease/finance/select rates). give it another week or so.

So entering into the website has nothing to do with VIN assignment or the start of production. You should be able to enter it the minute you get a production#.

Not good that I can't look at my existing car account information after entering the new VIN. I suppose I'll wait a week and see what happens.

at least you have a car in production. i was supposed to be a week 27 build too but it hasn't started production yet. i guess i am week 28? argh. getting so impatient.

i have a strong feeling that the site will be updated by next week. BMW has always been slow updating their USA website.

I was thinking it was July build dates.. I tried to change my build to black 19s and was told it was too late. I questioned this due to thinking it was July build times. Bummed about the wheels but stoked about it already being in production!! woo!! maybe I'll get my Drive for Team USA credit afterall! haha.
