4 Series disks

The disks on my 420 are rusted at the hub, which is a real pain, as they've still plenty wear in them.

I repainted them once over, but the offside ones are rusted again.

I'm now considering changing the disks.

If I change them myself, would it void the warranty ? I'm in year 1 of the extended warranty. Car is a 64 plate and relatively low mileage (32k). I suppose many cars are on their second disks at 3.5 years.

Another way of asking this question is, would anyone even know if the disks had been changed ? I mean it's not registered in the same way as a service - is it ?

Ps. Why no 4 series forum on the Bimmerpost ? Only M4

Welcome... but not sure you'll get a big response on the F8x section.

The dealer will never know if you've replaced brake parts and they're wearing items so not covered by warranty. They may detect it if you decide to fit after market parts of course.
