First BMW M4 Crash

Somewhere in the wealthy suburbs of Munich this conversation was going on about 1 day ago....

Son of a wealthy Munich executive - Dad, I really want the new M4

Wealthy Munich executive - No son, you're not experienced to drive such a fast car around crowded streets, I heard it's really fast and you're not ready for this car yet. Sorry...

Son - dad please, I promise I will drive carefully and not get crazy, please ?

Father - Ok then, I will wire the money to the dealership this afternoon. you better keep your promise and not disappoint me

Son - I promise dad, I will drive carefully, I'll stay in the neighborhood close to that park the first day to get used to the car

Next day the phone rings in the middle of the day at the wealthy executive's office....

Son - dad, if I tell you something will you promise not to get mad....

Comforting that the driver appears to have escaped with minor injuries from that.

That's why the car, even with all the carbon fiber bits sill weighs more than we'd like. I bet the improved safety structure is welcome over a few pounds of weight savings in situations like this where the car is totaled but those inside only received a few minor injuries.

yeah, the first thing I thought was how wrapped around that tree it was on the front end, but that the compartment seemed largely unaffected. Even should the worst happen with me or loved one behind the wheel, I'm glad to see the design around safety looks solid. ofc understanding this is just one type of scenario where things can go horribly wrong, but all the same

Glad the guy is allright. Shame on him too!

Refreshing to see police dressed and equipped as "peace officers" rather than "tommy tacticals" here in the USSA. Funny when I served in Iraq, etc we couldn't wait to get off all of our "kit". Go to a restaurant in Houston you see them eating lunch in full gear in multi-cams looking like they just HALO'ed into the restaurant... JEEZ.
