Connected Drive Stopped Working

My Connected drive has stopped working for the last 6 days.

I no longer have RTTI, BMW On-line, Concierge, Internet, etc...

I checked my contract and most service should not expire before October 2017 while Internet expires October 2016.

Anyone else experience this? Is it a network issue or is it my car?

The same thing happened in my car and came back magically after 1 day. If you call BMW, they tell you to go the dealer. But I called again and one agent said it's a network issue.

However 6 days is long! Maybe your idrive suffered motion sickness from the intense g-forces and gave out :

Hi Nik, if you still have the issue, try rebooting your iDrive, hold the radio on/off knob for 25s until the screen turns black. It may help but not for sure. I can't believe network issues would last many days without BMW acting to fix the issue. Use your BMW assist SOS button to call them, this way you can verify that your 3G voice chanel works which is a function of the TCB. But even this test wouldn't conclude or exclude any subscriber network provisioning issues ...

My SOS button doesn't work either.

I called BMW Canada On-Line 1-800 number and they confirmed all my subscriptions are still active.

I'll try rebooting the iDrive. Thanks for the tip .

Hmmm if your SOS doesn't work, that's worrying! I hope the reboot may help, if not dealer ...

Strangely, I couldn't get iDrive to reboot using the radio on/off button. Held it for over a minute and nothing...

What I did though is update my iDrive software downloading to a USB stick from bmw.com/update. I had never updated my iDrive software since I took delivery over 2 years ago. After updating the software, I tried connecting to BMW on-line and got a different message than before. Instead of "Connection not available" I got "Network presently unavailable, try again later". That seemed encouraging so I tried the SOS button. That also worked and they confirmed all my subscriptions were active. So I waited another 30 minutes, and voilą, everything was back to normal. I had the BMW weather, RTTI and all .

Yeah, the reboot procedure didn't work for my iDrive neither, good call on updating your iDrive software which for sure reboots it. Usually also coding any parameter in HU_NBT reboots it. Don't know which fixed it for you, but glad it works now.

PS: it seems in newer iDrive's the reboot procedure no longer works. I got the procedure details from ISTA/D but this post confirms too that it doesn't work http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1073260
