Auto Insurance

As a prospect M buyer/owner, I'm curious how much M3/M4 owners in NoVA are paying for their auto insurance? I know rates are much lower in this state than say MD but it's good info to share.

Insurer: Allstate/Geico or etc
Cost: $xxx (specify Monthly or Annually)
Coverage: $100K/$300K/$100K or etc
Age Range: 20's, 30's, 40's or etc
Record: Spotless/Decent/Last Straw

Cheaper than in MD? Interested to see what the cost difference is between MD and VA. I am in MD.

USAA
$89 monthly
30/60/15
30s
Spotless since 2010

Granted I have 2 other cars and my howe owners insurance so I get discounts from that as well but the $89 is just for my M3.

This also includes a lot of discounts varying from multiple car, landlord, renters, pay in full, auto pay, short daily commute, etc but this portion is just what the M3 costs.

Some of you are paying really low rates. I got some quotes from my agent and it looks like I need to switch. Does options play a large role in rates based on your experience? This quote is only for a moderately optioned M3.

Insurer: Allstate
Cost: $1,520 Annually
Coverage: $100K/$300K/$100K
Age Range: 30's
Record: Spotless
VA. $500 deductible. Multi policy holder as well.

I was given a "safe vehicle" discount...whatever the hell that is. I also get a loyalty discount since I've been with State Farm for like 16 years

You need to think about your policy. As some others, may want to give this some thought.

Having low coverages could cost you dearly.

30/60/15... if you were to hit me, I could come after you personally. Your coverage would not even cover my car. Lol. Much less if it was a multi vehicle accident.

For those with low a Collision Deductible, say $500, would you file a claim for something that cost $800? Of course not, so why have your deductible that low?

Flip side, for comprehensive deductibles at $1,000, try getting a quote to lower that to $50. You could be surprised by the difference in premium.

Comprehensive in basic terms is for anything not caused by a vehicle. Someone keyed your car, you strike an animal, there?s a fight and someone lands on your hood. You know what you?re out? A lousy $50. Big deal.

You may see that simply raising your collision deductible will more than offset lowering your comprehensive.

I?ll share mine.

What state are you from? Age and deductibles? Which is more to insure, M4 or X5?

I get quite a few discounts, including multiple insurance products from USAA. I also just increased my annual mileage estimate to 8K a year, added a few dollars a month. Other big driver are my deductibles, 300 each.
