I test drove one while shopping last time. Luxurious, great engine sounds, but pretty soft in terms of handling.

Cheers

Had one for about 18 months. Purchased one of the very first produced. Liked it okay, but the F8X are all around better cars and don't miss the RC F. Engine sounds are also artificially piped in through a speaker . . . Car is super heavy, had a few warranty issue, edges of seats subject to bad wear apparently not covered by warranty and expensive maintenance issues. Brakes on that car were more than my 911 and will need to be done every 15 to 20k miles due to weight of the car. It also uses dino or conventional oil, not synthetic, so you have pretty frequent oil changes compared to a car that uses synthetic. You also pretty much need expel if you are anal about chip and some of the curves and lines get chips horrible bad in the front.

I had one for 18 months. I had spoiler failure, fuel pump issue and hesitation all requiring various reflashes at various times. My navigation and stereo system had a habit of flashing off and resetting and the seat was getting some pretty bad wear on the side bolster which Lexus said would not be covered under warranty. All pretty minor stuff except for the seat which was super annoying and looked liked hell.

12,000 hard driven miles on my F80 ZCP and not a single hiccup or issue on anything.

People who buy rcf, are completely clueless of what sports car needs. Car that has franken chasis from various econo sedans, and it weights as much as them(4000+ lb). Tons of electronic controls to hide its shitty driving dynamics.
That car is made by accountants, not by engineers. I see them selling at huge discounts now.. i wonder why...

You clearly didn't sense the sarcasm if you really think I meant it seriously.

So far I have had a few issues, one that put my car out of service for close to 3 weeks and a few issues of a few days here and there.

Have to say those RC Fs grew on me real quick. Especially, after I seen one with a nice set of wheels, lowered and had a Meisterschaft exhaust. It sounded amazing. Made me wish that our cars came with a v8 again instead of I6.

So with that said, I still wouldn't trade my beloved 6spd AY F80 for it, just because I personally don't think it's a match when comparing it to a non-driver's car. But I'm sure down the line the RC-F definitely would be much more reliable even with all its little bs that could arise with time and mileage. You might have a squeak here and there or as someone mentioned, a glitch with Nav or other electronics but mechanical these cars should be bullet proof. Oh and not to mention, the lease deals on them were pretty good at one time, definitely a bargain for what you are getting compared to F8X. One big draw back for me was no manual option and it couldn't beat the employee lease program on my F80.

I like the way the IS sedan looks. I think they look better than the regular 3 series and C class. If they ever made an IS F it would look awesome. I would definitely consider getting one over an F80, even if it was a little slower.

I test drove the Lexus rc f after I got my 2015 M4. It handled like a boat and i was extremely disappointed with the performance. You have to really smash the pedal to get it going at traffic lights until it's in the high revs. Rc f=high powered pontoon boat M3/M4= speedboat with mercruiser racing engine that can turn on a dime. I had a good friend of mine who is not a car enthusiast at all tell me after the test drive your car is night and day better in every category. They are being discounted heavily to move them here locally.

Also in regards to reliability knock on wood my 2015 M4 has had zero problems. If you drive with a lead foot prepare yourself for new tires very frequently.

Like those said prior, sounds good but the visibility isn't great, handling feels very soft, car feels heavy and is significantly slower than a f80.

Probably a decent car but I would not choose one over an M4.
