Which tint?
Hey folks, I am currently seeking which tint brand/percentage to get done on my MW f80. Have two places which provide two different brands. Checked a bunch of threads but still am not too sure.
Shop A- Have had tint done on my past vehicles and pretty happy Solargard-200$ Shop B- Reputable tint spot 3m Premium tint - 250 minus a coupon of 50 = 200$ 3M Color stable series - 350 minus a coupon of 50 = 300$ Considering either 35 percent or 20 percent all around, no windshield. Any photos of above tints on a MW f80 and/or advice will be greatly appreciated. Don’t mind paying more if it looks better and is better quality. |

You aren't being specific enough.
Do you want something better like ceramic tints? Do you want something for looks only? Do you want something cheaper but also still withstand enough heat? Is it just completely dark look you want? Something my cousin always tells me if I cannot decide on what I want to do. Slim down your choices, find out what you are looking for first then slowly chip away at your choices until you are left with what you are looking for.

I have solargard hp charcoal on my m3 and my wife’s s5. If you are looking for an opinion on that, I’m happy with it. It has pretty good heat rejection which is pretty important here in Phoenix. My wife’s car has had it for the longest, about 2.5 years and I haven’t had any issues. It’s the only film my installer uses and he has probably the most reviews on help in my area.

i do not have any pics. if you search around some tint thread youll find some. at the end of the day. 20% is perfectly dark if your going for heat rejection and cosmetic. 35or30 is just as well but kind will lose the blacked out effect. pictures dont do justice as tints look different in lighting

Lighted area at night, 20% if livable most of the time (which means daytime). Pedestrians in areas you often drive or pull into where there's little or no light? Get 30%. Even then it's barely adequate, i often roll my windows down even at 20/20 vision (night)
20% is glorious in snow months during day vs 30%. ALL of the cons come at night time. Had both. |
