This is 100%? That's the M2 CS model?

I would love to get this, but something about the rear bugs me. But if there's a manual M2 CS or whatever it's called, i may have to look into this. Calling dealer tomorrow...

True and not all M2s just the CS version or whatever BS name there giving it. BUT it's gonna be annoyingly impossible to get

The regular M2 is still gonna have the 7 year old N55 from the e90 generation. Ouch

They could always massage the B58. I guarantee that is loads better than the N55.

There is a reason why it would be annoyingly impossible to get.

Enjoy your M4. No need to belittle other people's choices especially when their choices are considered by most auto journalists and reviewers as being better than your choice.

Drove them both at a BMW track event last night and it reconfirmed that the M4 feels more planted and has more power in the straights than the M2.

As a daily driver if you can afford the M3/M4 it has much better interior than the M2 also.

I have been following the M2 Competition thread on and off. Gatte could give a more concrete answer, but I think (from information gathered) it will be called the M2 Competition, S55, and some bespoke options available.

I don't think it's going to be a very limited run, but more of a transitory model as the S55 will eventually replace the N55 throughout the M2 line. (I believe, but anybody correct me if I'm wrong)

EDIT:
Some bullet points just mentioned in M2 CS/Comp thread:
- Key change is de-tuned (400/410PS) S55 twin turbo M3/M4 engine to replace current N55 as base (i.e. Competition) model
- N55 engined M2 to cease production prior to switch to S55
- More factory fitted option availability versus current N55 LCI model e.g. uprated brakes and seats.
- New colours – Hockenheim Silver and Sunset Orange with Metallic Grey to be no longer available

I have been following that thread closely and you basically summarized everything in that thread. Getting and M2 will still be just as difficult as it is today, not more not less. The reason I couldn't pull the trigger on an M2 was because of N55 and right now I cannot wait for the M2 Comp with S55.

I was too, went with m4 and never looked back.

Power of s55 is unquestionable, interior is light years superior and look is nice.

M2 sells for pretty much same price as m4. M2 has longer wait and stupid mark ups...after driving side by side I was so glad I didn't buy m2

I just spend an entire weekend on the track swapping back and forth between an M4, M3, and M2. I found the M2 surprisingly fun and agile on the short courses, but when I swapped to an M4 on a similar sized technical track, I expected to feel weighed down by it's size and mass. On the contrary, I was surprised how nimble the M4 was. I think the added torque and power more than made up for it.

After Q1 2018, your S55 based decision is going to get quite a bit harder.

Agreed. Have been in all 3 on a track, and the M2 is very agile and fun, but the M3/4 are simply more fast, and more challenging (for me), so I had more fun in the F8X platform. But you can get sideways fast in an F8X, so you have to be careful with all the nannies off.....but it's a fun car to drift, slides come effortlessly when the boost is boiling.

ok, thank you so much for all the advice, but I have made my mind up.

M4 LCI UPDATE COMPETITION PACK.

Will buy mid 2018, but now have to decide Sikar Orange or Austin Yellow. The Yellow looks great with the carbon fibre parts, but the Orange looks amazing in the sun. I live in the Whitsunday Island in North Queensland so 330 days of sunshine here, so thinking of that.

M2 looks ridiculous in the real world. A baby SUV with a tiny wheelbase. There is no getting away from the budget roots of the car.

M4 doesn't really make a lot of sense to me either since the M3 looks so much better and has more utility with the extra doors.

If you find the M4 too civilized and want a more raw driving experience take your money, go straight to the Ford dealership, and buy a GT350.
