Laser Jammer installer in Seattle?

Once my car gets here hopefully at the end of next month, I want to have a little more protection than just a radar detector so I've been thinking about getting a whole system installed that consists of a laser jammer, radar detector, etc. Can anyone recommend any good shops in the Seattle area that specialize in that kind of stuff?

I know Car Toys does that stuff but I'm sure there's better. Looking to hear responses as I'm considering it also.

if you want absolute best install in the area, benchmark motoring in Bellevue. If you want the best price for a basic install, there are probably other places.

I emailed them and they quoted almost $5600 for it which seems insane to me. I am not sure what that includes but I had to email them twice just to get a price and the quote gave no detail other than saying "it gets me all of them and includes rear jammers".

Any other recommendations for installers? I was able to get an escort 9500ci for a steal and will just need to get it installed.

That quote is basically them saying to you "We don't really want to do this but if you drive a dumptruck full of money up to us we will do it"

Did you check with Ian and see if he would be able to do this?

Sorry, I should have mentioned best = crazy price. Most of the people that get that stuff are lambo and ferrari owners. What's $5k when you spent 275k on a car.

Note that's the whole escort 9500ci with front and rears. everything hidden and custom brackets and the LEDs are in the rear view mirror. It's like $2800 retail in just parts alone (plus their custom pieces).

I'd find a place south of Renton or Everett or North that sells them and see if they will install yours. Unlikely they will but you never know. Otherwise go with someone that does K40 or other brands.

Escort doesn't warranty/guarantee unless installed by an authorized dealer and they track the serials. So if you paid $1000 on ebay for a new one that's cool but you probably won't get updates or warranty (due to install but they probably will warranty something that is defective not due to install).

Anywhere Bellevue and it's going to be spendy. If you find a place spread the love I am sure others on here don't want to pay $5k.

P.S. it isn't a jammer, it is a "Shifter". Jammer sounds illegal while a shifter simply processes the light and re-transmits.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting the latest generation of the 9500ci for a very good price and I'm getting it installed by an escort dealer for $300. Pretty happy with that price

I'll be sure to ask! Car doesn't get here until beginning of August so I picked up the detector and will bring it back to him once the car is here for the install

Is this top secret? Most of us only know about Car Toys which is somewhere around $2700 installed and Benchmark which is $5k (but has the version that uses the rear view mirror).

It'd be nice if you could share the information.

Sorry, I actually text the guy after your last post (never got your pm by the way) but I haven't heard back. I'll follow up again. Just want to make sure he's cool with me passing out his number since his shop is closed and he's just doing this on the side now.

Finally heard back from the guy who is doing my install. He did tell me that my deal was a one time special (bought some other stuff from him too) but he'd still be considerably cheaper than cartoys, benchmark, etc. and he is a certified escort installer. You do have to source your own system but he'll give you a great deal on the install.

I spent 8+ years in the industry as a rep who toured shops, and trained installers. Benchmark can be good. There are a few others you should consider as well. I have pics of work they've done on my car.

I actually ended up going a different direction last year and ended up selling the escort without ever installing it. I went with the anti laser priority heads and the netradar. Did the install myself on a Sunday and it worked out great and saved me a few k. A year later, I?m still very happy with it and wouldn?t have it any other way. I can take some pics later and add them.
