Thinking of selling my 15 M4 for a 12 R8 V10
I have this disease that I can't keep a car for longer than 2 years. I had a chance to drive a friend's 2010 Audi R8 V10 and loved the sound and performance of the car. I found a 2012 Audi R8 V10 6-speed with 17k miles at an Audi dealership that is super clean and out of warranty but qualifies for an aftermarket Fidelity warranty. I know that I'm going to take a beating on the M4 but I can get the Audi for right under $100k and the original sticker was about $170k. Am I crazy for considering this?

I thought Fidelity only sold warranties before the factory warranty expired. If you go this route, check with Troy at FD Warranty as I bought policies from him on Audi's for 60% of the price quoted by local dealers.
Generally I'd prefer newer cars to those 4-5 years old but if you really want the R8 it might be an itch you need to scratch.

I'm pulling the trigger and doing the deal! I am going to miss the M4, but the roar of the V10 is intoxicating. I will have a few parts to sell off the M4 including ER Charge Pipes, Bavsound Ghost Subwoofers and the stock 437 wheels with 275/295 MPSS tires but I'll post these items once I sell the M4. On a serious note with that kind of money i think you'd be better off in a porsche...at least it will perform as good as it looks. The R8 is all show and no go IMO |
