When I have some free time, I'll plot power vs road speed for the CP and CS. It will make for an interesting comparison .

Speaking of the QV, I think BMW is trying to prove that they are also capable of running neck to neck given the Cups and CF bits.

I would not be surprised if this CS was not planned in the pipeline until they learned the capability of the QV from internal intel's.

According to all comparos I have read, the Giulia-Q just keeps up with the current base/CP M3/4 around the various test tracks. And this despite its power advantage and sticky tires. The CS should eclipse the Giulia-Q in terms of lap times.

so now that the CS has been released? what are your plans? You were awaiting for its release to decide what's your next car.

IMHO the 2018 LCI with the Competition package is still a better daily driver as it has all the bells and whistles and not far off behind in terms of performance.

This bothers me a bit as it's just another way for BMW to make more money for minimal changes.

1. You can get everything this car has on a full loaded M4 comp and add on a nicer spoiler, for less money.
2. I actually really like the wheels
3. I absolutely hate the door panels as it looks like some cheap carpet.
4. The black M4 emblem and stripes on the seats are cool
5. I absolutely hate that BMW continues to leave the shift knob and steering wheel chrome when they could switch in the CF shifter or even just make it black. Nobody wants chrome!
6. They say the M4 is now 3.9 seconds with the added HP...I am pretty sure they projected 3.9s on the M4 coupe DCT in 2015 with 425hp....I could be wrong.

If they can do something to make the exhaust sound less like a broken lawnmower, that would be a good start.

Just my two cents.

Factory time with a factory driver is not really an apples-to-apples comparison. 7:52 for the base M4 is the AMS/SA Supertest time and they only managed a 7:34 with the GTS.

Did not realize the 7:52 done on the base m4 was from the Supertest.

What's the official factory time?

Acceleration number can become quite confusing since DCT vs 6MT and 0-60mph vs 0-100km/h are often confused. Add the F83 in the mix and it becomes even more confusing.

When the F8X was first released, it was advertised with a 4.1/4.3 0-100km/h for DCT/6MT in Europe and Canada and a 3.9/4.1 DCT/6MT 0-60mph in the US.

The CP reduced all these advertised figures by 0.1 seconds. The CS now reduces those by an additional 0.1s over the CP for a total of 0.2s over the base (the DCT ones only).

I sure am thinking . I so much wanted this car to be what I wished for.

I am now thinking a 2018 M4CP with MP-HAS, MPE, MP-splitter, MP-spoiler, MP diffuser and GC camber plates might be the better practical DD and track toy for me . I'll wait for Canadian pricing and options list before I make the final decision.

Sorry I have to be picky about this as I got picked on by someone when I was at the Nordschleife and now is my turn

Nurburgring has the the Gran Prix and Nordschleife tracks and most people use the name loosely because that's how press does it too.

Back to your question, I don't think there is any official numbers done on the CP model on Nordschleife.

I have no idea where you get your facts from.

Is your current car up for lease return or do you just need a new M?

I think a driver can make up that difference too of course, it's just not enough, they need bigger gains if they want to compete. Currently looking at Mercedes for example, the C63s is still crushing. As sad as that is to say.

I just want a new one. The two previous ones (E46 and E92) I kept for ~7 years. I decided to swap mid-cycle this time to keep full warranty throughout ownership (I track my cars a fair bit).

Haha I'm glad you corrected me. Always thought Nurburgring = Nordschleife. But it's easier to spell and pronounce Nurburgring than Nordschleife for me lol.

+1

As someone from "Europe", it's extremely rare to see a BMW taxi.
In Geneva, I see a lot of Priuses though

Build your M4 with the CP and DCT. BMW still posts 3.9 seconds for 0-60. The M4 CS if it really takes 3.9 seconds to 60 is no faster than an M4 CP with DCT. Here it is:
