6MT clutch engagement for different modes?

Has anyone else noticed that the clutch engages differently while in sport plus compared to sport? In sport it feels like there is a delay valve, in sport plus it feels like there isnt one.

Am I the only one that notices this, or is it in my head?

It was like that in E9X M3 6MT cars, the engagement "bite" point was different in normal vs power button on.
I'm pretty sure it will be the case in F80 M3/M4 as well

I notice a difference when in Sport+ only. In Sport+, the clutch just feels different. Not as smooth leaving the gear and not as smooth entering the next one. Had a brief discussion about this yesterday on the forum and the consensus seems to be Sport+ is different. Between that and the artificially hard steering in Sport+, I stay away from those settings.

A more aggressive throttle will of course give the impression of a not smooth engagement.
This

Its more fuel being delivered, not the clutch. Clutch to my knowledge is still hydraulic not drive by wire so not sure there is an impact.

Besides, in recent years BMW has not spent a lot of development dollars on the manual transmissions, and I expect that holds true with software development aimed toward the manual transmissions.

It's all the throttle.

I've switched gears without any throttle input at all and it still does it, almost feels like there is a delay valve with anything but sport +

I feel it too but it seems to be related to throttle because if I upshift into the next gear without ANY throttle input it feels the same. Everything is just twitchier with Sport+ mode.

It's only noticeable when I'm accelerating up to 40-80MPH and rowing thru multiple gears.

You are mis-interpreting throttle - think fuel input.

Just because you're not pushing the pedal, does not mean the car is not getting gas. In the higher performance mode the throttle body opens and allows for more fuel to enter the chambers and thus provide more power.

You would notice this also when in the same gear with the same throttle you switched modes.

I think it has to do with the car rev matching on up shifts in sport and efficient. When it does this you can re-engage the clutch more quickly and it feels more smooth. In sport plus I don't think the car rev matches on up shifts and this is what you're noticing.

You are truly missing out if you don't use Sport +, that is ALL I drive in, just learn to not mash the throttle and ease into it and there is no issue.

There is no way that there is any kind of variation to the clutch action. It's all down to the engine.

If sport+ had a CDV, it would feel more smooth. I also agree I think it's the throttle response. When I first got the car, I drove a lot in sport and efficient. When I switched to sport+, it was a bit of an adjustment to time the engagement point. I prefer sport+, although sport is nice, and I really like the rev matching. I wish it rev-matched in sport+. In efficient, the throttle is just too unresponsive for street driving IMO.
