Hey everybody. Let's set up a list here for the group buy. I contacted EAS and I think I will take charge arranging the group buy with them since I already contacted them. Currently, the sales rep is waiting on his supervisor for a price. He is asking how many are interested in Apex wheels.

Here is what I asked for:
Apex EC7 18x9 ET31 black, anthracite and silver (silver was limited number he said)
Michelin X-ICE XI3 245/45/18
TPMS
Mounting and balancing
Shipping to lower 48 US.

Please PM me to be added to the list and/or you could tell me here. Also please tell me your color preference

Please tell me who else is interested; also tell me the color that you want. Visi was trying to gauge the interest of other performance tires, Alpin PA4 or bridgestone blizak's LM001. Are we all happy with the Michile X-Ice?

Interested too, but I have a few questions as I'm new to this (always had A/S before...).

1. If I buy the group setup, all I need to do is change the wheels as if I were mounting a spare, correct? Take out the lugs, take out the summer wheel, put in the winter wheel, put in the lugs, all set? Or is there more stuff e.g. balancing, sensors, all that?

2. I have 12 mm spacers all around on my F80, will they work with the EC-7?

3. I looked at the XI3 description and it does not look like it's meant for performance cars like ours? Just curious what led to choosing that particular tire.

Thanks!

Take out the lugs, take out the summer wheel, put in the winter wheel, put in the lugs, all set? Or is there more stuff e.g. balancing, sensors, all that? Correct, take one wheel out and put another one in. No need for anything else. The vendor would be mounting and balancing it.

2. I have 12 mm spacers all around on my F80, will they work with the EC-7? Don't use spacers so i'll let someone else answer this

3. I looked at the XI3 description and it does not look like it's meant for performance cars like ours? Just curious what led to choosing that particular tire. The x-ice is supposed to have a lot better traction on icy surfaces and deeper snow, anything more than a few inches than the winter performance ones. Now having said that some people maybe live in areas where it doesn't snow too much and want a tire mainly for the low temps and in that case a winter performance would be fine. We are trying to get the vendors to offer an option with a winter performance instead of the x-ice. stay tuned.

If the X-Ice are best suited for super snowy conditions, I would be interested in another option as well. I live in KC and we don't get a ton of winter precip., but it is cold as hell for a long time... But really whatever is cheapest...

Thanks for the responses!

And yeah here in Chicagoland I typically drive on plowed streets so would rather go for the performance option, will definitely check back to see what can be done with those.

And if someone knows how spacers will work out, let me know!

Thanks!

the Michelin x ice will definitely be cheaper prob by 40-50 per tire. Another thing to keep in mind as well is how aggressively you plan on driving in the winter.

Is the general consensus that the Apex EC-7 is a better wheel than, for instance, the BBS SR? Tire Rack has the same package, but with the BBS SR wheel for $2122.00 mounted, balanced, and shipped. Unless we are expecting this group buy to come in significantly below that, are the BBS wheels a better option?

Hey I don't think you'll be able to get the BBS 19. They have EC7 19x9 ET21 but it's going to be more money by a few hundred. I can ask them if they would offer that also. You don't want the 18? Or you have carbon ceramics?

I'm thinking the price point will be around that or a little bit less. But I'm sure it will be over 2K. But even if it's the same price as BBS I would rather have the apex ec7 at 18x9 instead of BBS at 18x8.

Make sure you take the survey and indicate your preference. a 19' option was offered last year so i'm sure it will be offered this year as well.

The ZCP has 20s and I don't like how small the 18s look. I know 18s are better for potholes etc, just saying my preference. Id simply like to have a 19 option. Ill find the poll and take it.

Don't want to sound like a broken record but please make sure you take the survey if interested. It's in the first post or the link that eddy provided above.

Come Visi, how is my name not on this list

BTW, i will be looking to get the highest ride height possible. I'm talking about MONSTER TRUCK height. It's needed for where I live (getting into my driveway port)
