Scott, can you tell us a bit more about the "50d" engine please? Will this be the (E65 740d-745d) v8 diesel successor or an I6 evolution? In which models will it appear? What about the output? Thanks again!
That caught my eye too, and I am curious as well.

It sounds to me like an evolution of (or replacement for) the M67 V8 last used in the E65 745d. That is to say, this will likely be a new V8 diesel. I would guess power close to 400hp and at least 600 ft-lb of torque.

Another generation without an M3 sedan is going to be sad to see, but the idea of a "3 series Gran Coupe" sounds very intriguing indeed, especially in M form. And actually, this would be a great excuse to finally enlist the "4 series" nameplate, as the 3 series lineup is crowded enough already with four distinct body styles, with a fifth coming in the form of the "3 GT".

Four door M4 Gran Coupe? Yeah, I am thinking that would fit the bill very nicely. That might be enough to make most folks forget all about an M3 sedan...

I love that front end. Much better than the F10.

This is the first M3 that I will actually be in a position, financially speaking, to afford to own. Hope it's as good as the last 4 have been.

It is an interesting image but there is not enough to imagine how the car will look. The colour is certainly lively.

oh trust me i know it wont look anything like this piece of crap. their photoshop artist has no sence of style IMO. ive seen that front bumper before, the grills are from the gran coupe, the rest is confusing me. if they are going to change the look of the M3 it wont be too drastic like this alien ship we see in red that they call the new M3 maybe a minor shape in the headlight, slight difference in the front bumper, the sides might be alittle more shaped out like the 5 series.

No, it won't be V8 but three turbo set-up, 6-cylinder diesel. Known for a year at least.

Scott, I'd highly appreciate if any information about possible xDrive version of Gran Coupe is available? New 6-series is claimed to adopt xDrive but how about Gran Coupe?

I'll replace my E60 xDrive with new 6er xDrive, but would prefer Gran Coupe if AWD is likely to come out in it.

I think it'll look like a mini F10 M5, which probably will be a good thing

Well, yeah, I've heard about the tri-turbo six, but as far as I know no one has said that the model designation for cars with that motor will be "50d" and I'd be a little surprised if that turned out to be the case. It's possible though - and its fair speculation, sure. Definitely not accurate to call it "Known" though.

Some of the comments being made give the impression that the pics are accurate, yet a key point made by the OP is that they are not.
