Make it tail happy.
Hey guys, I love spinning/ drifting rwd cars at ease especially w s2000 I had. I understand M3 is a different car / beast. With s2000 it was so easy at slow speed, this m3 is not so hard but I have to risk some lol. I don’t track cars, maybe once a year. I don’t drive 100 mph plus . I was wondering put on some cheap tires like extreme contact sport or kumho ecsta on the back (since they kinda look like our PSS) to make it easy to spin the rear wheels like the brz Frs (Prius tires I believe). And yes I want the PSS or PS4 in the front. Is this gonna be a problem? Thank you guys.

Let me get this straight - you want to take a 90k car and put cheap, mismatched tires on the back just so you can spin it around? The M3 has enough traction issues with proper tires. That is just absurd.

Just have different rear tire pressures and you should be all set

Set rear tire pressure to 45-50 psi cold, set suspension to Sport Plus, DSC off, and increase rear negative camber (if possible).
I guarantee you will make the rear wiggle like there's no tomorrow. |

i dont think you need to do anything beyond daily driving to lose traction of the rear LOL.
this is by far one the easiest cars to be tail happy with |

I’ve also owned a s2000 in the past and i can say that it’s quite a bit harder to sustain a drift/transition with the F80. Just to be clear, it’s insanely easy to get the rear end out like others have said. |

I have to reference back to my Nissan S13 roots where running over 9000 psi isn't unheard of: http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=237493 Also, losing traction in a straight line isn't the same as being able to exhibit car control onto a sharp or high-speed turn. No one is sliding the F8x around with DSC ON, so all that's needed for OP to get that S2000 feel is to drive with DSC OFF all the time. |

Thanks everyone. I didn’t make it clear I guess I meant to say once you get it to the sideways, often times the PSS tires catch it pretty quick abruptly. Can’t make the smooth transition. I can do it with more gas but it’s revving at pretty high speed and can get pretty risky. I guess it’s due to the weight and high hp/tq. I will try with some more air in the back tires.
