Activesound deactivated itself?

Hey guys I know this is really strange but I thought I'll share this with you.

I have my M4 for almost 2 months now and will complete break-in next week. I've had no issues with the car so far and everything works fine.

This happened to me today when I started the car in the morning. The cabin was much quieter. Also when I'm driving around town I can hear the difference.
It seems to me that the active sound deactivated itself?

I know it's not possible to deactivate activesound but the night before I was playing around with the volume of the surround view. It was really high and it drove me crazy so I lowered it. I didn't touch nothing else. Wierd

Maybe your exhaust valves are stuck closed. Notwithstanding active sound, the VAST majority of the noise in the cabin is the exhaust. All I really hear is exhaust and whatever the active sound generates for engine noise is overwhelmed by exhaust in my experience. My bet is your exhaust valves aren't functioning.

If I change from "comfort" to "sport and sport+" I can hear the valves opening. The sound from the outside is much louder. The only difference is in the cabinsound.

It could be that you are just use to the sound of the car and its not as loud as when you first got it? either way its very simple just take it to your dealer and ask them to take a look at it. Or if you can try to get a ride in another M to compare it with yours.

I have my AS activated off and its really hard to tell the difference to be honest with stock exhaust. With my Eisenmann exhaust though its def louder inside the car even with AS off

It is a well known and documented fact (I read it in the Internets) that 100% of cabin noise in F8x's are audio clips lifted directly from the Forza video game.

Golffrr, please stop spreading misinformation based on your experience of actually owning the car and experimenting with active sound /s

It IS possible to deactivate active sound through coding. But it's also possible that something got out of whack and it turned itself off.

Funny, I've noticed this as well in my car, I have had mine since June. The unique thing about my car is I have an amp and sub in the trunk; and one of the biggest things you would notice is that active sound would play through the sub whenever in sports plus and very bassed out. I also did the open value mod on my car, so the exhaust is super loud, but doesn't play through the speakers at all now. I really haven't cared much about this, just figured I'd share.
