Cool! Even if I get another instructor, I'll just tell them I know you

The sound is awesome in the video linked further up in post #40!!! I think that's with your MPE, right? I can't understand how you barely got any wind noise, mine was horrible... Shouldn't you be out partying in Barcelona instead of putzing here with us

PS: too bad you don't use Harry's laptimer, it's cool to see the info overlaid, well at least it helps us noobs to learn!

Can I take a rain check on that one next year? Please...

Ok, there's an opportunity for a two day event (mid summer Heat XI) at LCMT w BMW Quebec, Aug 22/23, 4 instructed sessions per day with classroom, should I jump on it, is the two day event worth it? (Also a possibility for a discount)

And there's a one day "Brise d'Automne IV" on September 12 with them too!
Ps: momo1M , if you are interested check http://www.bmwquebec.ca/forum/forum.php

You'll sure learn a lot during a two day event. Much more so than doing 2 seperate days because you dont lose time "getting back into it" on the second day. Ensure you are well rested before the first, prepare your stuff well in advance and go to bed early.

I'll be there for both events.

ok registered for Aug22/23 with Henry and asked for you if possible it's a fun track and I liked it very much! Do you sleep at MT or go back home?

PS: For those who register for this event or any other with BMW Quebec, you need a mechanical inspection done, but they have a deal with a garage that does it free for the club members.
PPS: Nik is unobtainable, he's like royalty and not available to us peasants I got the same reply saying you are/may be instructing instructors on those days.

Glad to hear you had a good experience.

I did one event at LCMT this year but it had actually snowed overnight so we had to be a lot more careful that day. Allowed you to focus on the line and proper braking since the track was wet and cold.

To add to your list of tips, one tip an instructor gave me once is if there is constant traffic ahead of you and no one is giving point bys, simply pit out so that you can have a little bit of breathing room with no one around.

For 2 day events, I slept overnight in tremblant once and last year I decided to head back to Montreal. If possible, I highly recommend sleeping overnight since it allows you to rest up. You will be exhausted after the first day and then you will have to wake up early on the second day and drive up another ~1.5 hours. It's doable but I would sleep over if I had to do it over again.

I'm thinking of attending another event this year but might try one of the Trillium events at CTMP since they are offered over the weekend.

@Ggeezer , Thanks! Still deciding if I sleep there or not, depends if my other half joins me in the evening or not.

This 2 day event is 4 sessions per day so it's nicely spread out. The one w VAG had like 8 !

I'm also debating to sleep in Mt. Tremblant or not. I guess it makes a lot of sense to sleep there to be fresher for day 2.

Don't have my car yet. Next year for me.

Is there a way to assist to a session from the pits?

Won't be able to make it those dates but I'm leaning towards attending the event on Sept. 12.

Once you've been to Tremblant, you'll never look at St Eustache the same again

That's not true in my case, as I am still learning, the ASE lapping club is a great bunch and that track is technical, short but tough! Last week I thought I was way faster only to find out I average the same, so there's so much to learn about the basics and improve.

Going to LCMT is a churn w BMW Quebec, inspections, stay at hotel, ... (Event starts at 7!) With ASE, show up anytime from 5:00pm till 8:30, pay $25 and lap for 20mns with an instructor for beginners! Tonight I may move to yellow, intermediate

And to be honest, so far I like the ASE crowd, more down to earth... And LCMT still scares me!

Yes, but you need a helmet, and don't know if the instructor is always with the beginner students or we get to ride alone like we did with VAG. Maybe if you know someone intermediate or advanced, you can ride with them. I was invited to go in an instructor car last time during the VAG event.

Benzima, will you ever get your car? Why does it take so long? I thought it was on the ship a few weeks back...

It takes forever. My car is in Halifax as we speak. 2-3 weeks I should take delivery (if no differential recall).

With the BMW club (as with the majority of HPDE clubs), for liability reasons, only instructors are allowed to carry "ride along" passengers.

Thanks for clarifying that, I guess we will get handed the rule book once we are there, we just have 8 pages to read for the event and we start at 7:00 am, are we back to school mommy?
