LED headlights, which are mainly a cosmetic upgrade over the standard bi-xenon. LEDs look pretty cool at night but &1900 is a steep price knowing the package doesn't make your tail lights full LED

http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...odelcode=15TN#

I optioned mine out to 66,250.

BASE MSRP $62,000
Alpine White $0
Sakhir Orange/Black Extended Merino Leather $950
Aluminum Blade Interior Trim $0
Adaptive M Suspension $1,000
Manual Transmission $0
Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration $500
Harman Kardon surround sound system $875
Destination & Handling :$925

Total MSRP as Built $66,250

Factor in ED and you're at roughly $62K. Not bad, at this price I think the car has everything it needs. CCB is $9K WTF!!! Forget that, even Porsche guys remove their CCB for track use, and if you're even going to begin to argue that the M3/M4 are superior track cars to Porsche, you need to get your head checked.

DCT for $3K, well thats a bit pricey IMO. But for some people its a must have. Personally, I like rowing through the gears however I please without having to click buttons to engage my shift style.

Executive, Driver Assistance, and Lighting package are all sissy options, but then again thats subjective. In my opinion, that's almost $10K of unnecessary equipment and weight.

I can't believe you can actually option this thing out to almost $90K thats absurd. You're totally in entry level M5 range at that price point. That should NEVER happen with the M3. A fully loaded E92 didnt even come close to the entry price of an E60 M5.

I am seriously bothered by the fact that every model of Honda and Kia already has a back up camera as standard but BMW has yet to implement a $25 piece of hardware to their $70K halo car. Lets be serious, the M3 is BMW's halo car, it always has been the standard by which other sport sedans are judged.

The F80 will be phenomenal, supposedly the S55 is "an animal of an engine." I can't help but feel that they're really opening the door for the competition to whoop some ass though. I think the new C63 is going to be an incredibly capable car with serious numbers. I guess time will tell For me personally I'll still go with the M3/M4. . . yes I'm a fanboy and BMW loyalist

Maybe not on a race track, but at least 75% of owners buy it for a daily driver and there is little difference for that, and the Audi is AWD for those in the northern parts of the world thats a nice benefit.

I wasn't considering it but now I am, gotta look at the best car you can buy for $80K as a daily driver, and the S6 deserves recognition.

having said that, the new Mercedes C63 will probably cost around the same I rememeber when I got one for $54K fully loaded (deep discount after economy crashed in 2008)

can the dealer over ride packages? the only thing i want from the exec pack is the comfort access and possible the HUD. Otherwise its overpriced and unnecessary.

I dont think so... the HUD to me should be a completely seperate option for like $1000, the rest of the stuff in that pack is a waste of $$$.

totally agreed with you there.

Comfort access is the only thing i want out of the package... I built my spec yesterday:

My Spec:
Mineral Gray ($550)
Silverstone Extended Merino leather ($950)
Aluminum Trim ($0)
Adaptive M Sus ($1000)
Manual Transmission ($0) yes i know it's s#@* compared to the auto...
Moonroof ($0) yes i know it adds weight, but am i trying to win any races.
HK sound system ($875)
Handling ($925)
-------------------------------
TOTAL = $62,000

The offered color choices are pretty limited, its almost as if BMW wants us to go the individual colors...

No, I agree with that but I was focusing on comparing apples to apples for price tag, it's not on par with a true M car. S4 = 335. S5 = 435. You get the idea.

I thought I would go with the black interior, but this one is just beautiful. Thanks for showing us what it would look like as a contrast to the usual dark interior.

Im new to this site and found it while researching my purchase. What a wealth of information can be found on a site like this, thanks to all who contribute.

The downside is Ive spent roughly 75% of my last few days gathering as much information I can about the new M4 and yet still have a few questions. Im sure I can find them by looking back on the previous threads, but was hoping someone could confirm the following:

-Based on options shown, NAV seems to be standard. No option to upgrade to NAV on the configurator so thats what I can assume.

-Blue Calipers. I guess these are standard unless you go Ceramic? Wish they'd give us options.

Cant wait to learn more from everyone, lucky to have found this forum.

I dont know man, I like the Blue. Maybe not on the Red or Orange colors, but it looks modern on Grey or Black. I agree 100% though, we should be able to get a different color if we want. Red/Yellow (not gold) would be option 1 & 2 for me.

Unless you're getting all of your options for free, your total is $66,300, not $62,000.

this is ridiculous. the cost of options and what's not standard on this car....

Add CCB's then you're looking at 85+K for an m3???

Audi has LEDs as a $1400 upgrade option and I am pretty sure has LED tail lights (either included with it or standard to start)

wonder what makes BMW LEDs so much more expensive? you know Audi is still making a ton of profit on theirs...

I agree on theh S4 and S5, but I wouldn't say a S6=550i, Audi blew BMW out of the water with the S6

100% agree, if we can choose interior trim options why not brake color options.

Blue brakes on a Sakhir orange car look bad, even on a white exterior with orange leather, doesn't look right, Red would look much better...
