Don't over think it, it's a mic in an engine bay transmitting sound through the stereo.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

The "essence" is because this feels like a more powerful engine than what it actually is. If anyone was none the wiser they would guess its a V8 if they knew nothing whatsoever about this car.

There is something familiar but its very progressive its a new beginning to a very exciting tomorrow.

you are correct

my understanding is the m3 transmits "live" sound while the m5 transmits a pre-recorded sound

That looks really good in Alpine White. There might be a case to be made for non-metallic colors on this car.

What you can take away from it....
Is that the M4 makes the case for the M2 to be a four cylinder.

I kind of thought the success of M4 can justify a 4 cylinder in lesser class ///Ms...which may not be such a bad idea since Turbo 4s are very good and naturally lighter. It would be interesting to see what ///M division could do with one.

CLA AMG set a bar pretty high for 4 bangers.
