Is there no option to replace the ash tray / accessory plug location with a sunglass holder? I did this with my E92 and it worked perfect.....

I just use the small compartment on the left of the steering wheel. Works great!

If you have driver assist, you don't have it.

I never noticed the little compartment..I don't have driver assist either. I guess I'll check tonight lol. I usually put it in the case and just shove it in the door panel pocket..

Yup. Same with my 2008 E60 M5. From my understanding it was originally a sunglass compartment from an X5. The screws used for the E60 drivers side handle was *exactly* the same spacing for the sunglass compartment.

I don't think anybody has verified that the E9x unit fits F8x cars. There doesn't appear to be a part specific for F3x or F8x cars.

This car (F80)...I've tried center console but I'm always throwing my phone in there and there's not much space. Glove box is too much of a reach.

Two places. One is in the center armrest. Plenty of space to store stuff there. Two (and the one I use) is the small glovebox on the Driver's side right beneath the headlight switch.

+1 I use this as well, holds the glasses VERY well, no fear of them ever falling. The clip can sometimes rattle when empty, but a little piece of felt should fix that. It also uses a small plastic tab to stay in place, and will indent your visor, but it should go away after time.
