Aside from being careful not to drive through deep water and hydrolock the engine, I'm very comfortable. I live in FL when rains a lot.

I live in Wisconsin and DD my M3 in all conditions and it has never terrified me. I actually like driving it in winter better than 335XI, except of course for take off where a prius can pistol whip me in the snow, because it is so balanced and easy to modulate. Rain has been easy and also never a problem. The only thing I can think for those that are having issues is either tire issue, not enough tread probably, or driving too fast through water where you cause hydroplaning. No car is good when hydroplaning or with tires near the end of useful life and I am not talking about wearing to the bars it has been shown that tires at 50% tread are basically done and that is before the wear bars.

I have driven in the rain many times and this has never happened to me. The car brakes strongly and consistently. Not sure why yours and others do not. Perhaps a software update would help
