As long as your in the city almost everywhere they will speak english. Especially in Germany almost everyone there will speak english. If not you just work your way around it. But sure thing shoot me a PM when you plan on going would be more than happy to offer suggestions.

Nope fortunately no damage to the vehicle at all during the entire trip. Drove through the alps and Switzerland but unfortunately not through the main epic ones many people go on. Was that or the Nurburgring as it was the second to last day of the trip.

Great writing! Thanks for the awesome journal I would like to ask you one thing. About the suspension. How was it? How did you feel driving in Romania? Since Bulgaria and Romania have some bad roads I've been thinking to order the car with 18 and adaptive suspension but not a big fan of the adaptive suspension. Is the standard suspension too firm and the more soft settings of the adaptive would be better for such roads
Thank you again for the time you've spend writing this amazing journal!

You can check on the shipping site, I dropped mine off on 8/12 and it left yesterday/today for NY/NJ should arrive on the 9/3. West Coast right? Enter your full VIN as cargo ID on the link below, it should give you info its somewhat up to date. Let me know if you need help, PM

Nice! Makes me want to fly to the US just to do a euro delivery!

One question, how does the insurance work for these trips?
I can't visit countries like Romania with my car since my insurance isn't valid there (and some other countries in Europe where cars disappear). Are the ED trips fully covered everywhere?

Depends which part of Romania your talking about to be honest haha. Many parts have good roads but equally many are terrible. I would most definitely order the car with Adaptive suspension in those countries, the ride isn't terribly rough but with those roads it makes it quite uncomfortable. Here in US I'm not sure why anyone needs the vehicle with adaptive suspension but out there i would recommend getting the option.

I actually had no clue about that website, many thanks! Looks like mine was just placed on ship today with a estimated time of arrival of a month in California

Thanks man, did you happen to take any pictures or create a thread? Would love to see a fellow ED journal.

The vehicle is fully covered by Allianz. Therefore it is covered in all EU nations including Romania. Car was in the garage about 75% of the time in Romania as well, didn't take it out that much.

Also BMW gives quite a bit of insurance in the million dollar range and it costs nothing for the first 14days.

You cannot do Euro Delivery on the X5, X3, X4 or any other model made in the US. I did it on my X1 though since that is assembled in Leipzig.

But don't lie you check the shipping website daily, looking at potential rims and other after-market parts.. Perhaps even went to another dealership for a test drive.

Wow what a trip. I'm pretty sure you just cleared all doubts in my mind about black sapphire. The sakhir orange as well was what i wanted inside and this looks EXACTLY how I am purchasing my M. Thanks for the pictures.
