These latest 911s are crazy fast, they really leap frogged in terms of acceleration

Yeah. Then it gets beat by the even faster E63 S. I am impressed by this particular Merc, but if I could, I would still get the P car for RWD.

I imagine it is frustrating to drive these cars on the street, they just can't be driven wot but for a couple of seconds before you're just risking getting a ticket.

True that! I wonder if its power is underrated too since on paper, the GTS has a much higher power to weight ratio... approx. .141 vs. .129 for the AMG.

good point, but it is likely awd advantage at launch.

This. Crazy, back when I had my e90 no Porsche aside from Turbos/GT’s would pull away like that. I still remember right after my 1,200 mile service running into a 997.1 4S and being equal/creeping on a couple of short pulls, and the owner didn’t seem happy with a sedan pulling on him. Porsche has seriously progressed in this area to match their price premiums.

I would like to think I helped by posting about not being interested the 981 and 991 due to them being too slow in a straight line for the price

actually, they're both dual clutches, turbos and RWD (not AWD). the difference is only in the rear engine layout and much bigger tires. the Porsche got a better jump off the line as a result of the rear engine, but it also continued to pull throughout.

the e63S was a different story, where it got an impressive jump because of the AWD, but the GTS was reeling it in before the end of the race (and therefore reached a higher speed)

Yes I know that they are both turbocharged and have double clutch .. But, seriously thought 911 GTS models were AWD

Nevermind the roll race then That thing moves
