Availability of Continental Winter Contact TS830P

I have the OEM winter package for the M3 with the 255/40-18 Continental Winter Contact TS830P tires. My front left tire has sidewall damage and needs to be replaced. None of the local tire shops , or any online stores (tirerack, discount tire direct etc) have these tires for sale. Most say that they cannot even find it on their systems and it needs to be special ordered from continental! My only option right now is the local dealer that is charging $312/tire, which is almost twice what tirerack is quoting for the same tire in different sizes.

Has anyone had any luck finding this tire? Is it really that hard to get?

These have been superceded twice - the TS 850P and TS 860. BMW still offer the TS 830P as their winter tyre of choice and as such, probably DO special order them from Continental. If you don't want to pay the BMW price go for one of the later versions which should be easier to find.
