Interesting. It looks like Lexus will be unveiling a direct competitor to the M4 at the same event - the Lexus RC-F

A fair point. However, the real issue and one I definitely care about personally is that this gives BMW near Carte blanche in terms of increasing the price of the Coupe over the sedan (and increasing prices a lot over the current E92 M3). Of course they have all of the control anyway and can charge whatever they like, but in a practical sense this means one will be paying more for less just because one prefers 2 doors. Many folks will believe that the car is significantly different than the new M3 (bigger is better) phenomena when the engines will almost for sure be identical. I mean after all it is like the M5 vs. the M3 sort of, right? (sarcasm).

So sick of hearing this childish troll remark designed to piss people off. Take the time to do some research and you will find that the concept is 98% of what the production form is. Only difference is paint, wheels, front and rear bumper, mirrors and door handles.

This is great news!!!
The M4 should have the LED lights in front that the 4 series concept had. This will make the M version that more sublime and unique to the regular 4 series version. I also hope they do a CSL version down the road.

In terms of the lights. I think the concept will have the same lights as the 4-series concept but knowing BMW they'll cut back and make them the same as the production 4-series. when it finally hits the street. Regardless I'm excited!!! |

Although BMW uses therm term "concept car" loosely for show cars covering a wide variety of intentions, M concept cars in the past have essentially been production-intent prototypes with very minor differences from what ends up at the dealership. We should expect nothing less in this instance as well. |

I'm probably going to stay with the 2-series and wait for the M2. The pricing on the M4 looks like it's going to push in to Carrera territory, or more realistically, very well equipped Cayman S territory. I just can't wrap my head around the financial commitment at that price level.

I will be going to the Legends of the Autobahn which is just down the road in Monterey. Wonder if they will have a viewing there as well? Seems as though the Legends show would be a better forum for the preview; they did have the Zagato roadster there last year??
$275.00 for tickets to Pebble Beach is a little rich for my taste. Asif |

Scott are you able to tell us which event the M4 will be at and what dates it will be on display so we can plan our trips accordingly?
Like others have stated its pretty pricey and a long drive for some of us but we want to make the journey if we know forsure we are going to be able to see the car. Any insight would be very helpful.

At the pebble beach concours (sunday) there is a putting green right next to the main show entrance and typically there are a whole bunch of concept cars on that putting green for viewing. I'm going to guess it will be here.
