F82 M4 is only 23kg lighter than the F80 M3...

Styling is subjective, not everyone will find the M3 attractive(vice versa). I could see someone choosing the C63 as a daily driver, it has the luxury, smoother auto transmission and an effortless power V8tt. Bascially a mini-E63. Also there are many people more interested in roll racing events, rather than track day events. The new 4.0Ltt is going to be a tuners dream.

Well if not for the exterior, then the interior. it is hard for some to justify spending 80k+ with the interior of the M's compared to the C63's.

Wow, definitely wouldn't tick that box if I was ordering a C63. 180lbs additional weight and all the weight is at the highest point.
That roof is what makes the car.

Driving aside that is.

BMW needs the same type of roof. That old moonroof is a joke nowadays.

Would I order a M3 without the CF roof? No

Would I order the MB without the pano roof?

Not a chance.

That mini E63 part is the problem...

If straight line and roll racing are your preference... the M157 (the 5.5L TTv8) is, was and will always be a better option...

One other thing that I haven't seen anyone point out is the difference in pricing and what comes in the base car.

The C63s doesn't even come with Navi standard and those stock seats are straight LOL.

IMO, the M3/M4 with the busy exterior will age quickly and will depreciate. Merc stuck with a classic look as they always do. I might be wrong. This is not in defence of the Merc.

Have to agree with this. The pano roof is awesome and the car should not be ordered without it.

I see. Not really familiar with amg not having owned one.
Moreover, I'm looking forward to what the comp package will have to offer if indeed that will be the case.

subjective. for example, i prefer the f8x interior over the c63. i am okay spending that much and getting that interior. on the other hand i am not okay spending $80k and having the exterior of my car look like the c63. like i said subjective.

I agree the merc look may last longer, but the depreciation on an M3/M4 will not go down... when you get to the secondary markets you have to take into account the boy racers now are looking at the M3/M4 as an option.

I usually buy cars 2nd hand (except for the M) and M3's ridiculously hold their values because there is a larger market for that car- boy racers, track junkies, and the regular folk...

Great comparison, thanks.

"Brute force vs precision" - honestly, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

If things were this tight with the C63S one thinks the 'second tier' C63 would have been pummeled a little harder....

hehe me too! I wonder if the elevations and the longer straights on the ring will make the C63S faster than the M.

Yep. I agree, there are lot of reviewers saying positive things about how that car handles.

I don't like the CTS Vsport based engine (I heard there is a lot of lag and does not pull hard to redilne).. that's the only knock against it dynamically, although the looks for me doesn't do it... too much chrome and the interior is MEH (subjective).

looks like c and d already made their decision
