Drove a 328 and a 340 before the F80. You aren't going to want to drive the F30 daily after the F8X, trust me. Get something totally different. I got an i3 as a secondary daily and I love it. It's different enough that I don't feel like I'm missing the F80 on my commute and i can take it in the carpool lane. The instant torque makes it a zippy commuter in the city, and it also saves me about $200 in gas a month. I would even look at an SUV or something. Variety makes life more interesting.

The f80/2 is a great daily driver.. almost too good as I got kind of bored with mine, which was tuned as well. But that's more the product of the environment; I don't have great driving roads anywhere on my daily commute so it can suck the fun out of a lot of fun cars.

When there is no opportunity to open it up, due to traffic or lack of good roads or family in the car, you could be driving anything. Which is why I suggested keeping F30 and a toy When you are stuck in traffic, I personally feel there are more similarities than differences with F30 and F80. But when you are hammering on it in the canyons or doing a DE, you'll notice if you are in a sedan based car (f80/c63/etc) vs. a 2 seater (GT4/Z06/etc). If nothing else, the seating position can make a big difference in how things feel |

Bought a 14' 435i Mperformance used (loved it) for my second vehicle/weekend driver and traded it in on 16' M4 loaded with options 45 days later. Told myself that I wouldn't drive it much and keep it for special days. Whatever, I drive it almost everyday and when I don't.........we'll, let's just say that it is not a "complete" day. Pure Joy every time. Great DD. |
