I will just add if you think the car sounds like a Civic or raspy, just drive it. The sound from inside the car is way different then what you hear from a distance or on a youtube video.

I will admit the car does could sound better, but it is nonsense to say it sounds like a Civic in any possible way lol

Go drive it, you will probably have a different opinion from inside the car.

Also, the M Performance exhaust sounds the best. AWE is good but MPE is your best bet. GL

I was never happy with the 2016 435i even though it's a great car.
I just had to get the M4 instead. M4 is almost the perfect car in every aspect.

I came from an FBO + upgraded turbo N54 335. Loved the 335.

M4 is better in every way. I'm super happy I made the switch.

Hey I currently have a 335is but am thinking of upgrading to an F80 M3. Since you have both you would be a good person to ask. I love my 335is but have always wanted an M3. Do you think the M3 is worth the extra money or should I just continue to enjoy the is?

It's worth it. I had a 2011 335is DCT with a Cobb ProTune before the F82. The IS is a great car but the ///M cars are on another level.

That's awesome I'm glad to hear they're worth the extra penny. I'm already going to Munich this summer for vacation so thinking of doing ED since I'm already planning to go and have wanted an M3 for a while now.

Definitely do ED. Wife and I won't buy/lease a car any other way

FYI. The F80 M3 is nearing the end of its life cycle. You should get on that if that's your plan. I think the end of production EOP is October 2018

Ya. I loved the tuned N54 with DCT. Great combo. The IS had a nice sounding exhaust IMO. Better then the F8x which is kinda weird. That was the best BMW I've owned until I stepped it up to this ///M car. I'm ruined now and can never go back to a "pedestrian" BMW.

Exactly. I always got compliments about my N54. It was a stock exhaust with the "golf tee" mod. I have never gotten a compliment on my S54 or S55 sounds. lol

I don't think they knew what to do initially on the F8x. The last Generation was a V8 screamer. It's hard to compete with that.

They could have made the f80 come stock with MPE from the factory and most of us would likely have been just fine with that.

Or hey, maybe subcontract out to eisenmann

Edit: my wife liked her f30 335 more than our f80 m3 so yea, she was in the "should have stuck with 35i" camp. you can also find 435 GC drivers on the other forum who paid more than f80 cost to get the comfort and commuter features!

That could be the future, who knows.

Rest assured though even if it's pure electric "garbage" the performance variance of BMW will still be there....especially on //M cars be it they inevitably go hybrid/full electric or otherwise. It's just not going to sound great or is going to be "automated."

Ever driven a tesla? Those P100D's are no joke in acceleration 0-60 in under 2.3 that's beating the new W16 1500hp Quad Turbo Chirion out lol. Granted apples and oranges but still impressive nonetheless.

Everybody has their own cup of tea.

Electric cars are becoming the future whether or not we like it or not.
thoae p100d teslas are 200k though lol for that money it better accelerate like that 0-60. from a roll i bet an f90 or new e63s would take it pre easily and those 2 dont have mazda 3 quality interiors .

^ sadly, there aren't enough people make those choices.

In 2014-2017, there were 2.5k to 4k per year sales of Chevy SS

In those same years it's 6k-11k Bmw i3 per year

I owned the 335is DCT and 335i F30. Both phenomenal cars.
My wife complained when I got the F80 because of the monthly payment. Then she rode in it, then she drove it, now, she wants to drive it all the time.

The M is a totally different car and worth EVERY penny. I am totally blown away how different F30 and F80 are.

I love the sound of the F80.
Start --> M1 (Sport+ for engine setting) = great sound!
