Turned in my M3 - What car next?

My lease expired last week and I turned it in
Now Im going through fast car withdrawal.
2015 M3
Anyway....
I am wondering what next???
I8? I have been looking for a lease to assume like 12 mths or less just not sure about it. It would be a secondary car to my Lexus LX470 like the M3 was.
I am also looking for a M3 BUT I want under 18 mths Comp Package LOADED including exhaust.
I would consider a M4 if I found one but with a 4 1/2 year old a 4 door is still ideal.
Any thoughts or other suggestions? As I said 18 mth or less lease assumption
I ALMOST had a SMOKING deal on a AMG GT for 16 mths but was too slow!

I have a 4.5 year old and an M4. It isn't bad. It's actually easier than ever now that she's grown into a booster style seat. Definitely get the comp package. It's a big improvement that will make you feel like you really have a different car.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. You had a three-year lease on a 2015 BMW M3. Yeah, sorry, it's only downhill from here.

I've rarely seen 12,16,18 month lease deal work out to buyer's advantage. I would think a used purchase would suite you better.

I turned in my f80 last week also, I miss the car a lot more than I thought I would. But I will wait till the end of the year to pick something else up.

Hang in there and have some patience, that way you can carefully pick out your next car. M3 withdrawal is tough so I can relate. Good luck on your next pick and enjoy!

The one I had almost gotten was a standard GT.
I am looking at both, I doubt I will find one for the length of time I am after.

I have also looked at the Cayman, Cayman S, 718 Cayman, 911 and a E63S
Audi really does not do much for me, never has...
An I8 is kinda intriguing if I can find one for 12 mths or under at the right price. Biggest hate with the I8 is most I have found have the really light interior which Im just not crazy about.

The E63S is awesome but the leases are just stupid on them.
Cayman and Cayman S are both tempting but I have not found the right term/price in my mind.
I found a 718 I kinda like and the price isnt bad but its 22 mths, does not have the sports exhaust (I like loud) and is in WA. I always try to find something I can fly out in the AM, pick up and be home by bed the next night...
I found a 911 I kinda like (not love) but it does have the sports exhaust. But it’s 20 mths and a manual. I have no problem with a manual but my wife can’t drive it, she says who cares she never drove my M3 (auto) so why does she care LOL

I test drove a 2016 and a 2017 SL550 and LOVE the car BUT it really isn’t fun to drive... Its just too perfect. Im 45 and perhaps if I was 60 it would be perfect.

Short term lease work to buyers advantage? Umm Im not buying anything, I already own a GREAT SUV and that is what enables me to have a fun toy like the M3. I have 0 interest in a purchase, I do not want a car more than 18 mths (24 MAX!). You will rarely if EVER come out ahead buying a car for two years especially when you add in the tax from the purchase.

I had a 335 ix with M package for 20 mth before the M3, M3 for 12 mths and now I am looking for a new SwapALease LOL!

Lease swaps are where it's at for short term leases. All the advantages of a 36 month with a fast turnaround.

It's always such a crap shoot trying to find one though. I tried for a couple of times but cars either had stupid monthlies, or were way over miles.

All the good ones get snapped up quickly

An imperfect amg GT or 911 lease takeover might be worth it if the timing works

I clarify it for you...12 and 18 month leases are silly uses of your money. Swaplease is the place to go for that as pointed out.

Nice - always wish I had done swapalease earlier in my life to try out different brands, styles of cars, etc. I just stupidly wasted money by going it on my own.

Good luck with the search - always seems to be the most fun part!

And I'll second the M4 comment - I have two kids and they both love the M4. Not bad to just fold the seat forward to let them in, then they buckle themselves into their car seats! (ages 6 and 5)

M4 after M3 seems like a lateral move at best

I like AMG GT (s or r) idea the best. Amg v8 sounds would be a nice change of pace from the S55

OK update, I think I am going forward on a AMG GT
BUT
I have to tell you if it was purely from a driving standpoint I would stay with the M3
Seriously the AMG GT is about 50K more and you only gain 1 tenth of a second in 0-60
I just want something that stands out a bit more this go around. If the AMG does not work out I am going to really try to find a I8 for under a year but if not it will be a M3 (possibly M4) with Comp Package and Exhaust option.
I will keep you guys updated!

Bit e the bullet and get a 991.1 Carrera S or GTS PDK

You could probably get a CPO one if you're looking to buy. In hindsight that's what I'd do. I wasn't happy with my M3 and got into a 981 Cayman S PDK. Love it! Go NA P-car.

The AMG GT is a fantastic car. Tons of power, amazing engine sound, docile enough to drive around town, great steering/handling, lots of character, and actually quite easy to drive fast. Not an MB fan, but a big fan of these things.

Ever thought about an RS7? I've been thinking of posting mine on here, but still heavily debating just slapping a tune on and crushing most everything on the road.

Have had the privilege of driving the the GT S many times now (both on and off track). It's an impressive piece of kit.

If you can afford a 911.1 gts go for it. I would even suggest a 991.2 but i have not driven them but should be ok as porsche never makes a bad sports car with the gts moniker.Whats weird is over here the price difference between a used 911.1 gts and a demo/floor stock 911.2 gts is basically non existent, the n/a gts seems to be depreciating at a very slow which is sad for my future plans .
