"Nobody likes the e36 M3"?
There's not an M3 I don't like.

All true to type. The M3, cold, efficient assassin. The Merc, a hooligan wolf in sheep's clothing, but just not as results oriented as the M3. The Alfa, sexy, tempting, but just too risky.

I really liked the look of the Alfa, and there's no doubt it makes a great noise - but there's no way I would consider one here in the USA - my closest dealer would be ~30 miles away. It's just not worth it in my opinion - hopefully these bugs get sorted out sooner rather than later for them. It's good for competition to have more than just Audi and Merc in the comparison tests.

I could have swear MT had problems with their car too.
Also that is my problem with a lot of reviewers that overlooks these things. Normal people actually DO care for reliability. I can careless about how good a Quad is, if you have to flatbed the damn thing so much what is the point.

Can't help wondering...
I still think the M3 is the boss but can't help the feeling that things would have been very different if the Alfa worked... let's hope the next M3/M4 widens the gap and resolves some the shortcomings of the current car.

Good info but the driving didn't offer much. Could have just sat at table and been as helpful

The review from Chris Harris is not that bad..as for driving sideway, it depends from the driver

Competition
It is such a shame.. I think BMW needs competition as it is for the benefit of us, buyers. Lets not forget what Nissan GT-R did for 911 Turbo. The difference between 997.1 and 997.2 is night and day.

FCA, of all companies, tried to build this platform from the ground up in 2-2.5 years. That was never going to be a recipe for reliability and I think most of us saw this coming from a mile away. As seemingly attractive the Alfa is, I would never seriously consider a Giulia due to a constant fear of something significant breaking.
My BMW has had some electrical bits have issues but mechanically it's been rock solid so far. |

Well, you never hear the phrase, "Italian reliability" for a reason. You also don't here, "sexy German styling" either. Except in reference to Marlina Detricht, of course she was a U.S. citizen...
