To me Chris Harris is over-hyped. His videos do have better cinematography and video editing than many of the more amateur reviewers, though. All he does is drift around corners and does a forced laugh as if on cue. Then he says "that's a new thing" or comments how he is driving "like a hooligan".

It gets old pretty fast.

Yes I've had a few drinks and was raised by a speech pathologist
The pauses bother me slightly as well. Carlos Lago is also getting a bit full of himself as well. Those pauses weren't as pronounced in his earlier videos. He is much more self-assured now and it is conveyed through the way he speaks.

When a car reviewer becomes a cock, and they all do sooner or later, I feel you need to own it like Jeremy Clarkson does. None of this fake modesty like Chris Harris and Carlos Lago.

Jethro Bovingdon and the little guy from Xcar - they're still humble and haven't really hit their stride yet so we'll see how they develop.

The answer depends on what corners your talking about and your definition of what is fast through those corners.

It was a joke Pretty much 90% of every M3/4 video review we've seen is of the car with the rear cut loose around a corner, raising the question, "can the car be driven straight?"

And now I've ruined the joke lol

to me

I should have known better considering your post-count, but sadly there are equally ridiculous questions being asked in these forums that aren't meant to be jokes.

Anyway, my bad.

It is and it isn't a joke! It is getting ridiculous just because the car can be put into a stable drift, these writers will not show how the car can be driven fast around a twisty track. Go to any race, that is not how professional drivers get the most out of a car, except for intentional drift competitions.

Yeah, but I gotta ask myself the question: If someone handed me the keys to a new M3/4 that I didn't own, wouldn't have to replace brakes and tires on, and said "Drive it however you'd like for the next 2 hours," how much time would I spend driving tight & clean versus sideways and sloppy?

...

Seems like an easy answer

And that' what's in Lago's review as he drives around a closed course to get the G numbers.

More broadly the criticisms of reviews is bonkers, I have no idea what people are expecting but then I don't they know either

It's probably worth noting that the video we see is heavily edited. They produce what draws views, and unfortunately, we're in the minority. Most people just want to see "ZOMG HE'S SO SIDEWAYS" videos.
