Readout of ISPI Data and Telematics Transmissions stored on the German servers for a few cars requiring audit. These were cases where the OBD faults were erased and mods removed in order to pursue warranty coverage. The cars were flagged due to lack of Data Integrity and fortunately it was a friend who came over from DE to inspect. I flat out asked the question at dinner, received answers, and have no reason to believe otherwise. He's never been anything less than honest with me.

I propose a new rule, any thread with spun crank hub in the title should be deleted if it doesn't include documented proof/workorder. This is the second time a SCH has been claimed on a post-bedplate s55 that turned out to be a false claim.

Well it seems like the dealership themselves originally indicated it was a spun crack hub so I wouldn't blame the OP for that. He has been pretty transparent and giving updates of what the dealership is saying.

BMWNA "neutralized" the OP. Won't see him no more.

Just glancing over 3 of them quickly (including this one), one wasn't "The SCH Issue", however the bolt backed off as designed to prevent more significant damage caused by something else. Another case matches one of the attempted claims where a (likely TPG Unit) was installed and subsequently removed when the hub spun. The OE assembly was then put back in place (and something was forgotten). This one I won't opine on further than *cough* ethanol *cough* since it is now claimed to be an insurance matter.

All the mechanical breakdowns I have found only come in affect after the warranty.

Always call ahead and talk to you're service advisor and ask if there are supposed to be any BMW reps at the dealer.

Look at the potential upside. Instead of feeding the bogus conspiracy theories certain character types are using to gain the illusion of empathy and avoid personal responsibility, demonstrate as a community, fraudulent actions by these people won't be tolerated and hold them to the fire. If a serious wide-spread problem of any type that is undoubtably BMW's responsibility to address does populate, it's far better to be on their good side. The amount of scrutiny bogus warranty claims have brought on is at a level I have not seen at anytime in the past as a consumer, tuner, or manufacturer rep.
The flag was already in the central database long before the OP started this thread. This certainly didn't hurt the Rep's position either http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=18 May not end up as scandalous as Karim, but this place certainly does have an endless supply of interesting characters. We'll never be bored for damn sure. Suggesting those that took a known risk should attempt to defraud the service and warranty provider over something they are not liable for? They sure seem to.
PS - I've been on here since the early days of the forum, and things are certainly different. Cue the Nazi eraser from Michigan.

(1.) Dude mods the shit out of his car (2.) Car fails, warranty claim is denied (3.) Dude slowly realizes he was taken by vendor/tuning-bro industrial complex ("mod, bro, mod! You're totally protected by M-M/warranty/[insert bullshit here]") (4.) Dude posts tons of shit on forums, vendor/tuning-bro industrial complex rattles and creaks (5.) Auto importer steps in and cuts a deal with the fucked-dude which always includes a shut-the-fuck-up-everywhere-including-forums clause. And then we never hear about this again until the next time, which is usually only about 6 months away. But all of that said, this appears to be a bit special, especially given the "insurance covered it" comment and the fact that this guy was throwing codes, so it's probably a combination of dealership without super-great troubleshooting, a lot confusion from BMWNA, a possible ultimate cause of hydrolock, and some negotiation by BMWNA, the insurance company, and the OP who doesn't seem too sophisticated with law and the mechanicals. Quote:
So my best guess is, this is some potential hydrolocky type thing that is cheaper for everyone involved to put behind them so BMWNA has cut deals which include having the OP stop talking about this.
