Center Speaker Blown
When I am in Sport Plus mode across all settings going around 40 mph and hit the gas from 3rd to 2nd gear, the center speaker sounds like its blown as the car accelerates. I stopped at BMW and had a tech go for a drive with me and he agreed that the amplified acceleration sound from the center speaker doesn't sound right. Any one else experience this?

So the sound kept cutting in and out. The tech removed the fuse # 126 that connects the amplified sound to the speakers. The car sounds more natural but quiet now. I'm taking it back in and getting a loaner while they replace the entire communication unit. The sound system otherwise sounds good from the center speaker otherwise.

Hey,
I had a similar issue where the Center Speaker would get this weird vibration/distortion as i would accelerate. I didn't want to take my car in since I am tuned and have down pipes etc.. so i just used that as an excuse to upgrade all my interior speaker to BAV SOUND and let me tell you that there's a BIG difference in clarity and overall sound. I installed them about 8months ago and haven't had anymore issues since. |

Update: BMW replace the communication module, amp and center speaker and it solved the problem.

So they played parts darts. Now which of the replaced components actually failed? I am surprised BMW authorized all of this. When I was a tech we had to get mfg approval for wholesale parts changes.
