Cn Rail Tracking

Hey anyone here able to track my car on CN rail? From what I can tell, previous trackers have gone dark....

I would really appreciate the help!

If it is not yet on a train, see if dealer will arrange to have it trucked. They normally will, for M cars. They usually use Hansen's and you can track from their site.

Although, once it is on a train, should not take too long to Toronto. The delay is waiting to be loaded from Autoport facility on to a train.

My car arrived and was offloaded in Halifax last week Tuesday (March 8th). I'm assuming rail car is assigned once it is loaded on to the train...? My SA is saying no info regarding rail car number is showing up. How long does it usually take to be loaded?

Loading, no time. Waiting for a train, could take 1 day or 2 weeks, depending on luck. On average, 4-5 days

They only book the transportation leg when it arrive at that location.

Thus, they book the train when the car arrive at Halifax. They book the truck when the car arrive at Autoport in Concord. etc.

I'm expecting similar issues.. My M4 is arriving in Halifax on March 21st and when I saw this thread I asked my SA whether it would be trucked or put on a train.. He's saying train with an expected delivery of MID APRIL..

How the F*** is it possible it would take almost a month to travel 13 hours

Are you certain I can make a request to have them put it on a truck?

My SA just told me expect to see it end of March; considering it arrived March 8th, that will be 3 weeks from Halifax to Toronto. Sounds like you'll be going through a similar wait. Everything's just slower in Canada.

Mine was 16 days from Halifax to Ottawa (train to Montreal, then truck to Ottawa), then another 3 days at the dealer before I got to pick it up. 3 weeks from port to dealer seems to be on the high side of average.

Asking to have it trucked straight from the port may not buy you much if any time, as they're still not going to book it until it arrives at the port and now you're just waiting for an opening in a truck schedule instead of a train schedule.

Got it..

I was clearly under the wrong impression, assuming my car lands 11 hours from dealer, it wouldn't take 3/4 of a f*****g month for delivery lol

Meanwhile it crosses an ocean in 4-5 days

Awesome news! Did you end up finding a way to track your car with CN?

Try offering your SA a bottle of scotch if he makes sure your M is prepped as soon as it comes in, could save you a couple days...

I've found bottles of scotch to go a long way...

Well, it is not just everything slows down in Canada. The whole shipping process is ridiculous. They give you an estimated shipping time of 2 months, so 8 weeks. Real travel time, 3-4 week tops. the rest is waiting time for booking the boat, train, and truck. Also, wait time for clearing custom.

I feel for you guys. I had to go through the same 8 weeks wait. For 4 weeks, my car sat the the German dock. Then another week at Halifax going through custom and waiting for rails. Finally 3 days waiting for the truck to get scheduled and pick up.

Hang in there. Once the car gets here, you will be so happy, all the wait will be worth it.

Cheers.

Hey I have a buddy who works in the shipping industry and deals with imports; and he said he will try and track the car using the railcar #, but he's out of town until Monday. IF he can track mine, PM me your vin and I will get him to track yours as well.

I will definitely try that; bottle of scotch does go a long way.

I've been lucky; car went into production literally a week after placing order, and then no wait time at the docks in Germany; went straight on the boat. It's been pretty smooth up until it got to Halifax. I think I'm more antsy since cars been here in Canada because I haven't been able to track it.

But thanks man, can't wait to drive it home.

My car just showed up today on the Asian King Vessel, estimated time of arrival in Halifax April 11th. I checkd with my serial number on the web site http://www.2wglobal.com/ .
The car was produced the second week of march, then booked for this boat on the 24th...My dealer told me that the car will be arriving in Montreal the 30th...
