I was at the American Honda Motor Co. headquarters in Torrance, CA, yesterday. They had the ZDX and Integra Type-S in the lobby. They also have a pretty cool museum of halo Hondas all the way back to their first car in America. I thought it was a pretty cool thing to see.

The ZDX has distinctive road presence. The overhangs are very short which makes the wheelbase appear almost limo-like.

That yellow Integra Type-R though. That would be a fun car to own in new condition.

Wow, what a blast from the past! Those VTEC screamers of old were so much fun. It's always a treat to see an unmolested EM1 or DC2 Type R. Thanks for sharing.

With the end of ICE, I'm trying to think of the one car that would be both exciting and last a LONG time. TSX Type-S is on the list, an ISF if they came out with one (not IS500). Infiniti Q50 Redsport or whatever they are called. Not sure what else.

But something that could crush 500k miles with minimal repairs...

I think they recently opened that Honda museum too. I plan to visit it next time i’m in Cali.

The ZDX for me is a miss. Styling looks like a mix betweent the old MDX and Lexus RX (especially that rear window). And the interior is a huge disappointment as its a copy and paste of the Honda Prologue (which is just a Chevy Blazer EV) and some nicer materials, but nothing more distinct styling wise. Since it’s essentially a GM EV, I’d just get the Lyriq.

There is no “end to ICE”. That premise is tantamount to the “year 2000, all electronics and computers are going kaput” scenario. Multiple companies have scaled back their EV production. They acknowledge that EV’s have not caught on as previously imagined. Generally speaking, the people who truly want(ed) EV’s already have them.

I reached out to a dealer with an Integra Type-S in stock. They are asking $6k over MSRP, which brings the cost up to $58,584 plus TTL. I told the salesman that brought the car into RS3 territory (they start at $61,000) which is a fight the ITS won't win.

Perhaps, but no manual. The RS3 also starts at just under $63K (includes destination).

That Acura is clean, and like previously mentioned, comes with a 6MT. That latter fact places it above an RS3 in my opinion. I think the Acura looks better as well.

$60k for an Acura not named NSX. I thought seeing the M2 with the $84k sticker was bad enough.

This market sucks, these prices are just nauseating.

6k? That's it?

I recently went and leased an integra A-spec manual as I wanted to get back into a manual car and needed a quality DD as I am now driving around 300 miles a week for work (san diego housing prices suck so I moved farther north).
When I was at the dealership they had a type S on the floor that had 25k ADM. It was listed at 78k. That was a month ago and what's crazy is it's no longer listed on their site. So now I'm wondering if some crazy ass person bought it.

I had a DC2 Integra and DC5 RSX in high school and college. They were great for what they were, but I’m at the point where I can’t go back to FWD in a performance car. Can’t deal with the wheel hop anymore. I’d rather get a Supra or RWD M340i for $60k.

The salesman/delaership doesn’t care. They are waiting for someone who isn’t as informed to walk in and fall in love with it. It being a manual only limits that potential though. The only thing they care about is if the high prices plus high interest rates crater demand. Then and only then will prices start coming back down. I feel like you can get these in most markets at MSRP now. As long as they are not the crazy Cali/hot big city markets.

Thanks for the pics, I didn’t think it would look good in an Austin Yellow like color, but I’m surprised how much I like it!

Have you gotten a chance to test drive any of the BWs?

Unfortunately not minn19 . Closet thing I have gotten to is a CT5 V Series. A friend of mine has one, and I’ve had the opportunity to drive it a few times. Quite impressive.

Since my first car was a 04 Jetta, I would choose the RS3 just because of that. But I would choose the RS3 also because of the engine. There aren't a lot of 5 cylinder engines like the one in the RS3 or the former TTRS.

I agree on the looks though. I'm not fond of the new looks of the RS3, I prefer the pre-LCI version, it was much cleaner. Now that the TTRS is gone, no more option for that.

That's right. Furthermore, the Integra Type S is an MSRP car. There's no need to pay above sticker for that car.

I spent some time exploring the RS3, Type S, CTR, GRC...I don't think I could do any of them. For whatever reason, I still like the GRC - if at sticker, it's not bad. But anywhere above 50-55k for them is just too much. I also can't believe the lack of choice with colors inside and out. Audi has decent outside colors, but no interior options. The rest have basically no choices inside and out. Also, fake leather seems to be pervasive. I guess the ecofreaks have convinced the populace they don't need leather. Terrible.

So maybe I just add the brake package and keep the M3C as long as possible. Anyone know if they will replace the brakes (assuming you bought that maintenance pack) if you track the car? I am seeing mixed answers on that.

I think it would a really fun car to experience for awhile. But I do agree with others that you’d probably switch out of it pretty quick. But, if you got it at sticker you probably wouldn’t lose much when you did move on.

Coming from higher tier performance vehicles (e.g., G80/G82/G87, RS7, 911/718, CT4 BW, etc.), I don't see the CTR, ITS, or GRC as a suitable replacement. You're destined for buyer's remorse if a replacement is what you're after. As a second, third, or fourth car? Sure. They're better suited as a novelty, dedicated track car, toy, or daily to keep miles off your other cars. They're great for what they are, maybe even punch above their weight class, but you have to keep things in context. The trio just cannot stack up to higher tier performance cars and anyone suggesting otherwise has lost touch with reality.

Not an objectively bad car, but it's a big shame BMW thought this was an acceptable showcase as a 50-year anniversary M. They should have brought out Vision M Next instead.
